Canterlot was having a celebration that the royals of Mount Aris, Queen Novo & Princess Skystar, had come to visit. There would be a parade down the main street with balloons of the kingdoms of the rulers. However, there was just a small problem. The balloons of the sea ponies had been ripped and they wouldn’t be able to seal them up in time. They needed a new plan and fast. Pinkie Pie came up with the solution to have Novo and Skystar become the parade balloons themselves.

The queen was hugely against the idea, but Skystar was more curious about how it would work. Discord had shown up to help with the balloon spell, and with his magic combined with Twilight Sparkle’s (who was making sure Discord didn’t go too far) magic, they both have the two hippogriffs zapped and they just need to play the waiting game. At least, that’s what Discord said. He had Novo and Skystar wait outside on the parade floats their balloons were supposed to be attached and requested they turn themselves into seaponies before they started to feel some of the changes.

Novo and Skystar could feel themselves getting light as the queen notices her belly feeling a little rubbery. Applying pressure to this rubbery point she could feel she was able to push in much further than she normally could. Skystar started giggling as she was getting a good amount of the rubber skin spread across her body as they both felt their insides getting quite airy. The two could feel themselves getting lighter as they saw the floats were looking smaller than before, but the two hippogriffs were actually getting bigger.

The rubber skin was starting to spread across the seaponies’ bodies as they kept increasing in size. Parts of their bodies started gaining seems that kept parade balloons together. Novo swore they were getting lighter even with their increasing size. Eventually, they both started to lift off of their floats and would’ve floated away had it not been for the strings suddenly attaching to their arms and tails, securing the two to their floats. They partly limited their movement as their bodies started to creak as they bent their body parts.

Animate Part

Skystar giggled as she enjoyed the feeling of floating without needing wings. She and her mother felt their insides starting to turn into helium, which wouldn’t be changing their pitches too much as the gases would be balanced out with their increasing sizes. Novo started to relax as she saw her daughter giggle and wiggle as she was becoming bigger and airier. Canterlot was now looking much smaller to them as the rubber and helium reached their heads.

Both seaponies would close their eyes as they would quickly become painted on decals. They would still function like the organic versions thanks to Discord’s magic. Their mouths would also partly close up with only be able to show their teeth and the inside of their mouths, which would have a similar case with their eyes, they could even have a snack if they wanted to. Their manes and fins all blew up with helium as every creature around them now looked like ants. They floated about in the air as they had fully become parade balloons.

Skystar clapped her inflated fins in excitement as Novo looked at how elegant she was. Discord soon gave everyone the all-clear, and after a few last checks, the parade had begun. The two royals waved to the ponies and other creatures watching the parade travel down the street, much to the pedestrians’ surprise. They didn’t know how the balloons were moving and waving by themselves. They just assumed that the princesses had used their magic to make it look like the balloons were alive.

They had no idea that these two were actually living beings that were enjoying themselves. This was a unique experience for the two. Novo had to admit she was against this at first, but now it was pretty relaxing. They carried on with the parade until it would be time to change them back to normal.

Inanimate Part

Both seaponies could feel their bodies having a harder time moving. It felt like somebody was pushing their arms and tail as the rubber and helium started to get to their heads. Novo and Skystar found themselves smiling without input, and their eyes were forced open. All of their insides had filled up with helium at this point, even their manes had been filled up. They would become very stiff as Novo and Skystar would just float above their floats as if they were simple big parade balloons.

The two were still conscious, they just couldn’t move. They were able to look around and could the parade ensue from their unique points of view. As the parade began, Novo and Skystar watched as they strolled down the street. Novo would’ve been angry, and nobody would blame her, but this was sort of relaxing to her. Skystar had a similar feeling. She would’ve liked to be a bit more flexible so she could wave to the crowd, but this relaxing feeling wasn’t so bad. Besides, Princess Twilight would make sure they would turn back to normal after this was over.
