Yeah, I especially see how his actions are divisive on certain levels there. They had as much of a chance as he did, but he just was too stuck up in his heroic visions in that child-like, weird imagination of his to try and propose another, more favorable solution.

Yeah, I’d say he’s childish in some aspects, despite his godlike powers. He really did mean well, it’s just that he went with the worst possible plan for executing them because despite him actually being crafty most of the time, he just comes across as a klutz sometimes, especially with his Grogar stunt and attempting to charge into the Changeling hive with his magic before realizing the aura placed around it which nulls foreign magic.
I’d place my own verdict and say that he does try to mean well on many occasions. He just doesn’t think about the consequences his elaborate stunts can pull off when he does so.

He’s basically a childlike god who barely understands morality as is. Even the best people can go wrong with power, and discord has perhaps the strongest power we’ve seen in the show. He likely truly believed he was helping, utterly misguided as it was. Reminds me of many kids in their own stories.

Comment duckery aside, I genuinely love these first and last quotes ever by him in the series. Season 9 may be INCREDIBLY divisive, but I just can’t not appreciate how these lines show his outstanding, yet imperfect growth throughout the series.
💯 Agree, in his first quote he is a villain who only cared about causing chaos without rhyme or reason for himself chaotic neutral/chaotic evil. In his last quote, he is a antihero who believes in evil should be punished because he’s now chaotic good.

2019 really was a year for disappointing endings. MLP, Game of Thrones, and Star Wars had…divisive endings, let’s say. The only ending everyone seemed to like was Endgame.
