There may be limits to what Friendship can and cannot do. It’s surefire against negativity, so Ovaltine may have had a way to counteract its power or something.

We don’t know enough about Opaline except Twilight and her friends couldn’t stop her with rainbow magic and she actually succeeded for a while. Tirek couldn’t succeed at beating Twilight even with the help of Chrysalis and Cozy Glow. It’s possible Opaline at her full power could be much stronger than Tirek to the point to where he couldn’t absorb her magic if he tried. Or maybe Opaline isn’t as powerful as a lot of us might think.

If drained, all Tirek needs is an opportunity to catch Opaline off guard and vulnerable; if he can do that, he can steal her magic. If he can manipulate Discord, who is literally the strongest creature in existence, next to Cosmos, then I see no reason why he couldn’t do it to her. Someone who just looks like a Nightmare Moon wannabe.

To my knowledge, he manipulated Discord not once but twice, when Twilight first bartered with Tirek and the second time when Discord was disguised as Grogar. He kicked the Pillars’ asses in the season 9 finale and stole their magic. The Pillars with Starswirl could all together easily defeat Opaline– you get what I’m trying to say here, right?

And fire alicorn? You mean Daybreaker, right? Who is literally a fire alicorn, and I’ll wager much stronger than this Opaline; her name also sounds much more intimidating.

Try to take this seriously for a moment: The Fearsome Mistress of the Inferno, Daybreaker… Opaline: The Fire Alicorn! This was why Fizzy decided that Tempest Shadow was a better name for herself; soft names make soft people.

And, just for kicks, this new big bad, Opaline; If she fought up against Tirek when he’s jacked up on magic, he would kick her ass; there’s no contest; that’s not even a fair fight. All he has to do is just point his index finger at her and vaporize her into ashes with his magic beam.

Even weakened, he would still win as he’s a master manipulator, and she’s not, to my knowledge. He’s not just some lumbering brute; Tirek is quite cunning when he needs to be. That’s like Bane from Batman; you would first think he’s just some lumbering brute when he’s anything but.

When people call Bane a stupid brute, they forget that he’s a gang leader who successfully broke out of the very prison he was raised in, he’s a brilliant tactician and mastered a mixture of judo, Muay Thai, and Wrestling. He can fluently speak around eleven different languages aside from his native tongue, Spanish. He has a very high IQ level and detective skills, rivaling Batman’s. He’s a master manipulator as well. In short, the dude is fucking smart. There’s a reason why Batman always takes Bane seriously, and he should; the one to have broken the bat is nothing to scoff at.

Tirek vs Opaline would be like pinning Bane up against an average human; it’s just not going to end well.
