Story: On November 2nd, as I got home from work, Sunset told me to come over to the laptop as she had something to show me. It wasn’t an anniversary, I knew that, so what could it be? I soon found out as she played a video clip of Steam Locomotive 475 from Strasburg in an accident with an excavator. I was shocked to see this. I was only thinking about this as I took a shower, made dinner for the family and sat down in the living room. Before going to bed, I ended up seeing clips of the dear 4-8-0 being towed back to Strasburg.
A few days later, as I was getting ready for work, I was looking on twitter and that’s when I saw it, a picture showing 475 coming out of the shops with a repaired smokebox door. She looked like she had been through a war, but I was happy to see her again, and so was Sunset when she saw the photo.
As my workweek ended, I got out my 475 shirt, and with Sunset, we took a picture to show our respect to the Strasburg Railroad for their work, and of course, show our respect to the legendary locomotive herself. One day, we’ll see you with our own eyes.

Real Life Info: I was indeed shocked by 475’s accident on November 2nd, and originally, this picture was going to be a ‘get well soon’ picture, but before I finished Sunset’s portion of the picture, I saw the photos on twitter of 475 being fired up again and with the cracks on the smokebox door. When I saw the photos, I changed the picture a bit to make it a ‘Glad You’re Back’ picture. Also, it’s to show my respect to the Strasburg Railroad for their amazing work in getting the locomotive running again. Videos of the accident can be found on Youtube, and there are plenty of videos and photos out there showing the locomotive after the repair job. I’m glad for her return, though just before posting this picture, I saw a video on Twitter that shows 475 being stopped by a cow of all things. Geez, what a crazy month for the locomotive.
