Looks independent to me as well, and I definitely recommend if you’re going for traditional looking stuff! It is very user friendly with its brushes too, as there’s a video tutorial attached to every one that shows you exactly what it does!
However, it is somewhat limiting in the way that, because it’s aimed at simulating real tools, you don’t get any layer effects. You just get standard layers, layer folders and “Reference layers” (importing an image as a layer)

There’s an iPad version but I personally only ever used PC for art so I can’t say anything about it.

There’s a free trial on their website anyway so you can check it out without buying it! It’s simply time limited, but I do not remember how many days you get with it. Definitely enough to mess around and see if it’s worth the money for you tho!
