Both shows even had their own separate marestream transformation scene

Not entirely. Sometimes it’s canon to Make Your Mark, such as with explaining where the Crystal Brighthouse came from or what’s up with Zipp’s visor. Other times it isn’t. That’s another problem I have with it, it cannot pick and choose when it wants to be canon and when it wants to just do its own thing. It really has no reason to exisit as a slice of life show if Make Your Mark is also slice of life based.

I feel like having two shows ongoing at the same time but with vastly different styles is a detriment to G5. It feels like it’s unnecessarily splitting resources and costing time and money that could go into making G5 more consistent. FiM didn’t get comics until it was well into its third season, Equestria Girls was originally supposed to be the grand finale before Hasbro changed their mind. G5 has had more far content up front, but that content has gone in a variety of different directions and it’s clear that no one is trying to maintain consistency or continuity.

Sunny’s parents are the same, so Zipp and Pipp’s (but in this case, their mother is the only one doing okay) and then there’s Izzy who has no one.

Tbh, we do have My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale and Make Your Mark, whilst G4 had only one show. Seems like plenty of time to establish something.

Do you remember when we only knew about three of the Mane Six’s parents in the first few seasons? And we didn’t really know them. We just saw them. Heck, Rarity’s parents still only made background appearances and we know almost nothing about them. G5 still just started, so it’s probably gonna take a while for the world the be built, just like G4. Plus, revealing parents isn’t that good of an idea anyway. Remember Scootaloo’s parents?

Yeah, that’s something actually nice about Hitch, but it only went as far.

I wish for an episode, where they would actually show how Hitch is doing, while leaving on his own. Does he has more family? If so, where do they live? G5 lacks details that would make the world actually believable – something that G4 was superior at. Through the details, the writers made the viewer believe in G4 world, G5, on the other hand, doesn’t display such thing.

Also, why everyone who happened to be a parent in G5 is single?

I feel like at the beginning there was this huge push for Starblazer, then it got quickly replaced with Izzyscout. Since then, Hitchpipp went ahead, but for some reason people started to ship Zipp and Hitch later on. I think people are confused and don’t know which ship is better for Hitch. So, no matter who you ship Hitch with, there will alwaysl be some audience arguing about it.

Also, I disagree with the whole concept that in case some of them do get together, it will disrupt the whole message about friendship, etc. Like… what? So, if you’re in relationship with someone does this also mean you can’t still be best friends?

Instead, I think that would actually be a huge improvement, because the chemistry between two characters would mean change of chemistry between the rest as well. It would make the relationship between each of Mane 5 stand out more and show that relationships in real life are more complex and autonomic, than just being best friends forever period. The only advancement to the previous generation in terms of relationships I see is that we’ve got two siblings, and best friends that know each other for a very long time. Besides that, their interactions with one another are hardly unique.

I don’t know why, but I feel like the writers are fearing of just going anywhere with their stories, characters or world building beyond what’s been done already. Like there’s some sort of magical barrier that they can’t cross. Comics are trying to fill that gap, but comparing comics to animated series is literally like day and night difference. Even TYT and MYM feel like completely different shows.

Well, I don’t oppose Hitch being shipped with anyone. I just find the idea of him being as responsible as a dad both adorable and awesome. And mostly because Hitch is mine.

I can find more example than that and still feel like a not-so-small part of this fandom don’t like shipping Hitch with ANY pony. If you search HitchPipp here you’ll see some image of tyt01ep41. For example, this
I like how some of the most notable comments are how inappropriate it is to have a couple in the series (you’ll never see this in some other ships like the izzyscout ship). And there this one guy, Just Wayne, keep saying he is a dad.
