Sure it’s a crappy job, the pay sucks, and the rest of the living hieroglyphs love to tease him, but it’s all worth it for this :D

I just finished playing it not long ago. It’s a pretty good game :D
They’re very tricky. Star is just lucky they’ve decided he’s a friend. Sure they still tease him, but at least it’s loving XD
Also, IIRC, hieroglyph ponies can travel via walls. If they consider ducts to be walls and part of the “tomb” as well, they can instantly teleport to his location. Shame he can’t assimilate the “curse”, though. Then Star can be like A Link Between Worlds Link and meld with the walls to get out.
Totally. One of the best adaptations of that novel ever, even though it also borrows a bit from Bride of Frankenstein, is Junji Ito’s comic adaptation :D
So Young Frankenstein was actually more accurate to the original story, then? No wonder I thought it had a better story than the 1931 Frankenstein film did.
Edited
Those old movies actually messed up a lot of stories. Like, the original novel of Frankenstein had the monster actually be really intelligent and well-spoken in spite of how horrid he looked, while the movie had him be this shambling zombie-like monster :D
I can’t help but be reminded of the scene in Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark where people’s faces melt off from looking at whatever was inside of the Ark of the Covenant.
Really? I didn’t know that.
That’s the neat thing about the mummy mythology, too. Originally mummies were attractive, seductive, and romantic, and original stories in the 19th century usually revolved around the protagonist meeting one and falling in love. It wasn’t until Boris Karloff’s The Mummy in 1932 that the whole “rotting zombie in bandages” became the predominant idea of what a mummy is :D
What you just described,to me,is a D&D Mummy Lord, which are super powerful mummies that can cast powerful spells and curses.
Sphinxy’s off on her own. That pharaoh and her guardians are a different faction. She was a normal pony once, but she’s immensely powerful now since she’s a mummy who is thousands of years old. Her specialty are curses though, which use their victim’s own inherent magic against them :D
So is Sphinxy guarding her tomb as well, then? I guess that all makes a degree of sense.

It’s not something they have the power to do, unfortunately. Their creator on the other hand is an expert on casting Somnambulan curses so she could probably turn him into one, but she’s busy sleeping off a hundred-year-long hangover right now :D
Because magic, that’s how. As for why? Doesn’t matter.
But, I wonder how long it’ll be before he gets turned into a hieroglyph himself.
They’re pretty quick, and can be pretty fierce when they want to be :D
@Dirty Bit
They love to put up random safety posters :D

Especially when it’s cuddling with a monster pone :D
Nothing’s going to touch Star Tracker here. Remember those living hieroglyphs are cute and irreverent, but they’re also temple guardians akin to the Guardiangoyles and even Ahuizotl himself: if anything actually tried to harm Star Tracker, they’d utterly destroy it since this is the first time ever the shy glyph has warmed up to someone :D
He enjoyed being dressed up in their outfit, so they were basically like “this guy’s alright” and warmed up to him. They do still tease him, but that’s the extent of it. Especially now that he’s involved with one of them :D
They and the rest of the things living in that museum actually behave themselves quite a bit around Star Tracker. He’s nice to them and turns a blind eye to all their shenanigans, so they have to behave themselves enough that it still looks like he’s doing a really good job as a night guard. Otherwise he might get fired, and the museum might hire a pony who actually cracks down on them XD
There was :D
Who says they aren’t working together to look for trespassers?
