Description

I was doing some testing in the story mode of Them’s Fightin’ Herds. I was trying to find out if the museum employee that says “WAIT uh… I mean… excuse me miss Velvet? Could you please settle this outside? [quieter] And away from all the priceless historical artifacts…” was any of the previously-seen museum employees. The answer? Sometimes, and it depends. Take a look at this chart:

I played and quit out and re-loaded section 2 of chapter 1 multiple times, taking note of the appearance of each female museum employee every time. Sometimes there were identical deer, but it was all random. However, one character was not random, and had the same appearance every time: The reindeer that Arizona can give an apple to, if you follow the right quest. You can read a transcript of everything said inside the museum, including this character, here.

From Anukan on the Discord server, some trivia:
Salad Deer (and the museum attendant) actually use the parts randomizer. They just have their parts’ seed locked.
This is in contrast to the unique NPCs, who are a class type of their own.
Mhm, so like, we didn’t set out to make a unique sprite just for those two NPCs, but I locked the seed so that they would remain consistent between players/sessions, because they’re sliiiiiiightly less generic than the other BG NPCs.
