Re-reading this after recommending it as a potential resource to an online Pastor (with a caveat that I shall avoid explicitly stating here for the sake of Peace).

A quick check of TVTropes* indicates that he did extensively use footnotes for “House of Leaves”, but the entries for his other works are much shorter and thus it is hard to know if he did there. It does say on his Creator page that he used very different styles for each of his works.

Regarding your hoofnotes, I wonder if Mark Danielewski found Terry Pratchett to be inspirational in footnote construction.

It’s also important to remember Sunny is not full adult weight and was relatively easy for Izzy to lift with her front hooves while balancing on her hind legs. More importantly if anyone really wants to get picky, there’s a difference between lifting an object several stories up with ease, and just a quick lift off the ground.

So while Izzy might be able to lift Sunny up on her back, it doesn’t mean she could effortlessly lift her two stories high.

A very useful data point. It doesn’t even have to be unusual strength(a), but demonstrates that “One Healthy Pony Weight” is entirely within Izzy’s abilities. Of course, for all I know, some Bronies might be of the opinion that the writers of TYT made a poor decision with that event.

(a) Although I really really hope the writers DO make it so. Would kinda cut in on the Pegasi’s schtick if every Unicorn could do that(b). Even if they were lacking in speed and/or could be easily be sent plummeting by a distraction.
(b) I GM a MLP D&D game where I had to take such things into account when designing the rules. (c) (e)
(c) I am usually recruiting, but contacting me here might be a bit dicey. (d)
(d) Try the “My Little Tabletop” Discord server instead. The game is 3.5 edition although the modifications to make it feel “more Pony” while retaining the most intense aspects of tactical thought that the edition allows for mean that veteran players may have some things to unlearn.
(e) Why yes I AM a fan of Terry Pratchett’s footnote style! Although, if I recall correctly, these are a bit anemic in individual length to serve as proper examples of the phenomenon.

I’m under the impression Izzy has an above-average amount of power as a unicorn seeing how she’s able to do self-levitation (in the “Unboxing of Izzy” TYT episode) and a few other instances.

I might actually be cautious about using FiM as a benchmark for anything magical. Earth pony plant growing powers seem to have gotten supercharged, there is no sign of cloud manipulation from the Pegasi(a), and, most relevantly to the matter at hoof, it only took 3 or 4 Unicorns at the end of the movie to lift a trolley car and put it back on the tracks.
(a) Of course I haven’t watched half of “Tell Your Tale” and they could bring that back with a simple handwave of “nopony thought to try until now” perhaps with the discovery (or a second look at) some ancient artwork or book.

General vibe. FiM unicorns couldn’t lift each other unless they were especially strong (or lifting a foal).

I’m not remembering any good benchmarks for Izzy’s TK actually… can you cite any or is this just a general vibe you got?

So underweight even Izzy can lift her with telekinesis.

If things keep going the way they are, they might admit her to the mental health ward, in which they’d have staff put her on LOS (line-of-sight) watch, if not 1 on 1 close watch (always in arm’s length reach of personnel). They will pull up a chair and watch you sleep and sit right outside the cracked door to the bathroom and ask about you after every 4 minutes or so if they don’t hear evidence of your activity.

I hope the hospital will allow Izzy to sleep with Sunny…
