Sometimes you’re keeping so, so many plates spinning that you can’t keep track of all the consequences.

Also, I just love the mental image of the table having this long, drawn-out discussion while the fireball is slooowly approaching the treehouse, with Twilight doing nothing urgent. (In fact, in the show, Twilight has already teleported out of shot, but I edited her back in.)

Twilight Sparkle: Well… Huh. Y’know, I feel like you’re starting to do this thing where you’re like “Hey, do you mind if this really dramatic thing happens to your character?” and I have a hard time saying… “No” to it?
DM: Oh. Is it, like, an unspoken peer pressure thing? That’s not my intention, but I’m sorry if I’m not communicating it well.
Twilight Sparkle: Uhhh… no, not quite like that… It’s just… a weird shift in the game dynamic lately. Because even though you’re talking about destroying my beloved character’s house, I’m… kind of okay with it?? Like, if you’d just done it out of the blue, I would’ve been actually kind of upset, but now that it’s up to me…? Because now I feel like… at the end of the day, you’re looking out for me, and it’s gonna be okay…?
Applejack: That feeling yer talkin’ about is called “trust.”
DM: …Well, THAT’S a crushing indictment of how the game’s been going up to this point…
Fluttershy: I do have a request, if we’re talking about modifying the results… I’d… rather the animals and talking books in the tree *didn’t* get fireballed, so… maybe Twilight could save them before it hits?
Twilight Sparkle: Oh, right, there are animals in this tree!
DM: Oh, right, I put talking books in that tree!
