@horses are fuckin weird
What gets me about those episodes is that Twilight was really chill towards Trixie all things considered.
Boast Busters - she ditched the show since the attention made her uncomfortable and then she got pissed at Snips and Snails for the Ursa Incident, not Trixie.
Magic Duel - she only got pissed at Trixie because she was distressing her friends. But later on, she admits to Zecora that she’s suspicious of Trixie’s newly despotic attitude cause she judged correctly that Trixie was only egotistical, not mean. Then they bury the hatchet by the end and smile.
Turns out, it’s the third time around for them to be unreasonably upset at each other. Literally, you’d think it’d be over Starlight but if you rewatch the episode, they’re instantly sarcastically smiling at each other without needing Starlight as a catalyst. No buildup, just instant odd dislike after several seasons apart.

Friendship, Art, and Magic (2018) - Celebrated Derpibooru's six year anniversary with friends.

What really gets me about this episode is that, judging by the structure of the episode and the aesop at the end, Twilight was originally supposed to be completely in the wrong. Like the writers got cold feet halfway through writing it.
Trixie deserved better, both here and in the episodes that followed.

Good point twilight was worried about, a newly reformed villain being friends with someone she saw as a narcissist and troublemaker.
> And before anyone points out discord yes I know he is like that, I’m not hating on Trixie I’m just making a point lol

Y’all it’s not like they were treating Trixie as a villain. Twilight just wasn’t confident she was going to set a good example for Starlight. And to be fair, Trixie: 1) Was a jerk before getting the amulet, in fact it was spite that motivated her to seek it out in the first place, 2) may have apologized afterwards, but didn’t really display any POSITIVE traits after that which would really indicate significant growth in the meantime.

I don’t understand where the tension came from between Trixie and Twilight that episode. They only had two run-ins with each other and already buried the hatchet by the end of the second.
Sucks that their barely-relationship was written to have regressed this in the episode for some issue Starlight could take part in. They’re both better than that.

That always bothered me about the episode. Everything bad Trixie did, she did while under the influence of an evil amulet that corrupted her mind. Starlight did worse of her own free will and Twilight was quick to forgive her.
