It’s not really the bathhouse that make him go bonker, it’s the people greed that make him so. Everyone is kissing his arse so they can get gold out of him, and all emotions affect his personality dramatically. Such as when Chihiro show him kindness by helping him, he return the favor with gold.
No-Face is essentially one’s own shadow, reflecting what you are.
