Well that’s funny; one of my ancestors was a Sinn Féiner. Fled the British authorities in Ireland by hiding in England - because they wouldn’t have thought to look for him here. Can attribute my Catholicism to my Irish ancestry. Eventually however this Sinn Féiner’s descendants, via various generations of Welsh and English unions, would see my mother marrying the Protestant son of an RAF officer from Edinburgh (who had married a woman from Norwich).
So you see, I’m more of a unity-ist rather than just a unionist. I don’t like politics of division.
