Description

The Frenchman leaned against the file cabinet as he skimmed through the cowboy’s file. “His full name, favorite food and likes is considered barren?”
“Don’t forget his bloodtype; Type AB, same as yours!” Pinkie beamed for a moment, before hanging her head down with a sigh. “But what good does that do when I don’t even know what kind of party he’d like?”
She reached the furthest corner of her party cave, Polnareff following suit, as she turned to face him. “Although…” —She placed a detective hat on her head, her eyes squinting—“for a so called childhood friend,” —she brought out her pipe— “Your knowledge is weak.
Polnareff tightly clenched the file in his hand as the stream of bubbles flew, each pop more threatening than the last.
He chuckled nervously as he put the file away, the mare continuing to glare at him.
Quickly cracking, he cleared his throat, Pinkie’s eyes sparkling as she tossed her gear aside. Leaning against the table, he began to reveal the truth.
“We hardly knew each other, that brazen boneless bastard and I…”
“Frankly, I don’t know why I went along with his dupe, pathetic attempt at blackmail aside. But when he and Applejack were recovering from their injuries, I took over some duties at the farm, making our “twice a week” deal become near every other day.”
As the Frenchman walked in through the door, rubbing off the sweat from his forehead from another day’s work, the smell of Hol Horse’s newest soup recipe, carrot and gardenia, wafted through the air.
“Finally, I’m starving! Applejack,” —He walked towards the lump of blanket on the couch— “Wake up, maremoiselle, it’s…”
Face to face with an empty couch, his ears perked up at the sound of laughter coming from the kitchen. Quickly tiptoeing to the doorway, he made sure to stay out of view as the laughter died down.
“I keep telling ya I have a stepstool, Hol.” Applejack rolled her eyes. “And I keep telling you, the doctor said you shouldn’t be on your hinds too long.” Hol placed his hands on his hips as he leaned down to meet her eyes. “Half a second to get some salt isn’t long.” She mumbled, flicking him with her tail.
“It has plenty.” He pouted as the cowpony walked away. Hol Horse stood back up as he turned down the heat on the stove. Running his fingers through his hair, his eyes widening as his hand made contact with the scar on his forehead.
“Looking for something, cowboy?”
He whipped his head around to see Applejack sitting at the table, smugly waving his hat in the air. “Didn’t the doctor say something about keeping a clear head?”
“Well if that’s the case” —The hatless cowboy strode over, pinching the ends of her hat- “why don’t you take yours off?”
“Hey!” Flicking it into the air, he twirled it out of reach from the orange mare’s hooves.
“Tallulah doesn’t count!” She scrunched up her muzzle. “Is that what he said? Hmm..” The man put his finger to his chin, pretending to ponder. Bending down, he placed her hat back on her head.
“Now, can I please have my hat back?” Hol Horse asked, taking the seat next to her. Applejack’s own fake pondering was short before she exclaimed “Nah!”
“Oh c’mon, AJ! I gave her back. Don’t make me change my mind now.”
“I saw you wearing my hat the other day, what’s wrong with me trying on yours?” Applejack raised an eyebrow with a smirk as Hol Horse’s gaze flitted away, the corner of his lip trembling as he bit back a wry smile.
“Guess you win.” He chuckled softly. “Besides, you’ve already lassoed away quite a bit from me. My hat was always on the table.”
“Really now?” She snickered, covering her muzzle with her hoof. “What else did I lasso, Hol?”
Resting his cheek against his palm, his other hand brushed her bangs aside before playfully tugging on the rim of her hat.
“Not anything too important.”
Meadow green eyes held onto the gaze of cloudy blues before the mare turned away, shaking her head with a grin as she firmly plopped it back on his head.
“Just warn me next time you pick me up, sugarcube.”
Polnareff stood back in awe at smitten gaze of the cowboy for a moment longer, before stepping back to the front door as though he’d never been witness.
“Suddenly, neither the womanizing jerk or the dishonest coward made much of an appearance.”
Polnareff clasped his hands together with a swooning sigh. “And I couldn’t be any happier for him, seeing the apple seeds of l’amour begin to blossom~”

Was testing out Clip Studio on my desktop to potentially color the comic with (I love Autodesk Sketchbook with all my heart but it would take a longer while to color without the speedier process of clipping masks) and I just ended up coloring my favorite part of a comic panel xD
This is from Polnareff’s flashback as he recounts to Pinkie Pie why he doesn’t know much about Hol Horse as they both claimed.
The whole fluffy scene above isn’t in it; at least main comic wise, it could end up being an omake/extra~
But I should finish the actual comic first
