I do, ultimately, agree that they should not end up together romantically. It’s just a rarity to see a character who is that obliviously insensitive—typically characters who say things like that are saying them with deliberate cruelty.

I very much “disliked” Sprout’s demeanor, but that was well-intended praise for the material (which is why I said his character was spot-on). But I can’t help but vent my thoughts as if caring for a cartoon Unicorn as a real person. She doesn’t need to be with him (for her sake).

She remembers that drowning fucking sucks and only looks peaceful in movies and on TV. If Maretime Bay is indeed maritime, she’d have an easy time reversing her decision and swimming back to shore with her nostrils well above the waves due to the salt water.
I’ll try and refrain from my own personal experience. Not with drowning, which I’ve heard is a burning pain, but maybe the flailing and such is more horrifying for a spectator than the victim.

I loved Sprout’s demeanor in Sunny’s story. Saying the absolute worst things with zero intentions of cruelty or malice. He reminds me of myself when I have no reminders of “this is a sensitive topic, tone it down 20 clicks”

I don’t think involving the Mane 5 to intervene is a great idea for intervention. The comic does well, as Anorexic Sunny did, to preserve a lot of canon with this darker, believable stuff happening in the background.
