Yep, you’re absolutely correct. Maybe I could’ve worded my comment better, but all I wanted was exactly what you presented. The art style in the twitter drawings is different than the mlp related ones here, but it’s obvious they are an actual artist with multiple artstyles, thank you. I stand corrected.

Artists should not have to prove to you or anyone that they don’t use AI, we should take them on good faith and hold them to account only when clear evidence is available. A gut feeling should not be enough, ‘looking like’ AI should not be enough. As it happens this artist made the unfortunate move to delete most of his art history, so there was evidence going back at least 3 years back in February that is gone now. People don’t always make the best decisions and I doubt at the time they were thinking about what they’d need to defend their reputation on a site they don’t even use.
But if you’re looking for prior art, there is still a twitter here:
https://twitter.com/rrmartian
This has art going back to 2021. Remember that widescale public home access to stable diffusion started around mid September 2022, so this is clear evidence of prior art.
Even if it turns out in the long term that this artist is secretly using AI and he was on the cutting edge of everything, we should still have higher standards than a feeling.

I really can’t accept yet that this isn’t AI assisted. I wanna emphasize that I really want the artist to prove me wrong, because i’m not the first person to think that, and I know non-AI artists spend a lot of time and effort, which would make it hurtful if people kept undermining it by claiming it’s AI.
However, they only have a reddit and furaffinity account, outside of an etsy account, all of which are pretty new, and that I couldn’t find any art from earlier than december 31st of 2022, and their furaffinity account claims they’ve been doing art since 2013. I just wish I could’ve seen some social media account somewhere where they would showcase their art from a time before the AI boom. I did see some things on etsy, but it’s a much much different artstyle than this.
I know, none of those are factual proper claims, and I can’t even point the obvious AI flaws that commonly occur to these drawings, but the artstyle is really reminiscent of AI assisted art. It could be that there’s some usage of AI, but most of the work is still done by them, but that would still technically be AI assisted.
I did see a glimpse of hope, because I saw a moderator who deleted the tag (which means they might have been proven wrong by the artist, in private), and I saw two posts of “work in progress” art, one of which was a pinkie pie that was never finished, and the applejack picture which was just a picture with lines drawn on top, and some photoshop layers, which is kind of easy to construct from a finished AI art (by tracing on top and dividing random regions to different layers).
Naturally, the artist isn’t obligated to come clean just because a random user is making claims, but I just wanted to raise awareness. Sorry for the wall of text.
