Well, this took a while. I started this the week before Final Mission was broadcasted, and only finished it now, almost 3 months after the show ended.
Sorry for the lack of Buddy Roids. I wasnt sure where or how to add them.
Go-Busters started pretty weak in my opinion, but as the plot advanced it only got better and better and halfway through I was already completely in love with the show.
Ryuuji was my favorite character at first, but was eventually replaced by Beet, and later by Jin. Hiromu was also a good protagonist, and only got better as the series advanced. Kuroki, Nakamura and Morishita were great supporting characters and showed very well that the Go-Busters werent fighting alone. And while some Ranger partners ended up forgotten in previous Sentais, the Buddy Roids remained relevant trought the whole series. The only main character I had no strong feelings for was Yoko, but I still liked her regardless. My main complaint about the main character is that while most 6th rangers are much stronger than initial cast, Jin and J were too weak compared to the Go-Busters. This become specially obvious after they acquired the Powered Custom.
Messiah wasnt a very memorable villain, but he did his job, acting more as a looming treat rather than a more active antagonist, allowing Enter to steal the spotlight as well as the role of big bad. Enter was absolutely perfect. I knew from the very first episode that he was going to be a big deal, but he still surprised me by becoming the final enemy, even though I begun to suspect it would happen after Messia was defeated for the first time. Escape was a great introduction to the series, adding tension into Vaglass, previously represented solely by Enter. I also loved her rivalry with Ryuji. Their fight when Ryuji purposely overheat was one of my favorite moments of not only Go-Busters, but Super Sentai itself. I also need to draw Corrupted Escape as as Draconequus sometime.
I still have a lot of feels regarding Jin. Until the Final Mission I still thought they were going to find a way to save him. I mean, they always find a way. Well, this time they didnt, and now hes dead. If Im not wrong, this is the first time a Ranger die ever since AbareKiller in Abaranger, unless you count Rio and Mele in Gekiranger. Anyway, Jins sacrifice closed the series wonderfully, and while he was already my favorite character by then, it made me love him even more. I also love and live by his philosophy: Perfection is boring. Flaws make things more interesting.
Go-Busters is still too fresh in my mind to say for sure, but I think I can say its competing with Gekiranger as my favorite Super Sentai.

Well, there’a few reasons. First, Yoko matches my interpretation of Silver Spoon: they’re both sassy and have a strong personality, but ultimately have a good heart. Second, I wanted to make a Sweetie Bot joke. And third, I like to think that if DT and SS could work out their problems with the CMC they would all be friends, so I swapped them in order to make it feels like 1 big team, instead of 2 teams.
Forgive me if you already clarified this somewhere, but one thing about that kinda makes me scratch my head about this picture is Sweetie Belle’s and Silver Spoon’s roles. It feels like they’ve been swapped. Any particular reason for this?
Of course, Deneb! He’s my favorite Imagin. I never noticed before, but yeah, they do have similar personalities.
I like Nick and all but it just that him being like that in Go-Busters just is an odd think to me.
The character Nick acts like isn’t really a Rider, he acts a lot like Deneb(partner of the secondary rider) from Kamen Rider Den-O, but being a robot/motorcycle(and one with a gun) is like “Auto Vajin” from Kamen Rider 555(it’s his main motorcycle).
I heard Dekaranger is great, but I’m yet to watch it. Once I’m done with Goseiger, I plan on watching some other stuff, then Kamen Rider Hibiki and Kabuto, and then Dekaranger.
As for Power Ranger, I know nearly to nothing about it. Aside from a few random episodes of some series, I only fully watched Ninja Storm and RPM. I can’t rememer Ninja Storm very well, but RPM was pretty good. I also watched the first episode of Megaforce, I hope caught up to it be end of next week.
I think Nick was a pretty cool character. What Rider are you talking about?
And I think I know a small reason Go-Busters is not one I think highly of, Nick.
He’s basically the mind of one of characters form one of my fav Rider series put into the “body” of a… support-weapon/vehicle of another Rider, it’s almost uncanny…
I try to watch all of one sentai before moving on(not counting the one running) but with most I have run into problems of one sort or the other.
For me Dekaranger was my first sentai, before that it was just power ranger that my knowledge sentai came from, but unlike that I do now, watch no more then 2 episodes a day and not more then 6 a week, I watched it all on in an almost non-stoped run, and it didn’t stick with me at all then being better to me then Power Ranger SPD in my mind, but after a few more(older sentai that had troblem fining all the episodes for,most less then ten with good subs) I re-watched it and loved it, but at that time I got to looking at Kamen Rider as well, and with it I can pen down what I do like of the Rider series, that slowed me down big time on sentai, making most of sentai I do watch is the running one.
And one Kyoryuger, it’s not looking like I will like it, but I just saw the hints about gold and it’s looking like it may turn for the better for me, but it was just not setting right with me before that.
Well, won’t you look at this? I just wrote my college thesis on Super Sentai. Sorry, feel free to ignore the huge wall of text ahead, but just answer me this, if you can. You fully watched Abaranger right? If so, do you know where I can find it? I’ve been wanting to watch if for almost 2 years.
Will it’s kind of an odd thing for me really, I can’t really explain what make me like the ones I do, it’s some mix of things done in just the right way is the best I can think of to put it, and I have seen from Jetman onward but know things of ones before that.
But my top sentai are all one I have seen fully, his that right mix I can’t seem to explain.
for me in order from oldest to newest are, Abaranger - Dekaranger - Magiranger - Go-Onger - Shinkenger - Gokaiger.
And you favoriteone, Gekiranger, seem to be one that almost made it, something just keeps it from fitting with the rest, bu I count it as runner up and the one I have yet to finish that I like as much as it count as “soon to be top sentai”, only Carranger and Boukenger are in that list right now as they are the closest to me being done watching with all the other not even being half way watched.
I see. Go-Busters is certainly in my top 3, but once again, I didn’t watch that much Sentais, only Jetman and everything from Magiranger onwards, except for Goseiger, which I’m currently watching. But at least for now, the only Sentais I feel like rewatching are Boukenger and Gekiranger.
Nope, I really don’t think of things like that, mostly from that fact that Go-Busters didn’t really strike the right nerve with me to make me really count it in my top sentai(basically one that make me want to rewatch them) and only 5 of the sentai I have seen hold a spot like that.
This could work too. Actually, I think I considered doing this at one point, but scrapped the idea later. I have a headcanon that despite her obnoxious personality, Tiara is surprisingly competent and smart, and adding this to her cockyness, she ended up being good candidate for Jin in my eyes, so I settled with her.
Do you have a pony line up for Go-Busters?
Actually, I Know about the looking 13 year younger, and i was thinking more one of the older ponies but with a younger look, like maybe have Dash(just as an example) but have her as a filly.
Well, I admit Tiara isn’ a very good fit agewise, but I wanted to keep the foals theme I gave to the other Busters. I mostly used as excuse the fact that Jin’s body has spent 13 years in stasis, so he looks much younger than what he really is.
If we’re talking about age, I confess I feel more awkward about placing Apple Bloom as Ryuji.
Okay this is good but Tiara as Jin is wrong to me, it sould be someone that is older.
