All those times I went with dialogue-free action panels, this is the kind of description that the DM was giving their players. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

DM: These two beams of pure energy race towards each other, and then… The collide, they clash, but there’s no “boom.” The displacement of air is so sudden that the explosion is muffled. Purple and orange plasma expands… Roaring chaos advances and shatters every particle in its path… In seconds, the world around the two of you is just a cloud of dust and debris. It takes what feels like ages to clear away enough to see. When it does, you see Tirek covered in rubble that collapsed atop him in the explosion. But he pushes the largest boulders off his back and gets back up, ready for Round 2. And at this point, I think we’ve accomplished all we can with this clash-of-titans combat. One full round of that was enough.
