I’ve got plenty of proof.
Many G4 fans would have liked G5 if it wasn’t a sequel to G4. Being a sequel to G4 we wanted them to explore yaks, griffons, dragons and changedlings more rather than what we got. And for a while Izzy was just Pinkie as a unicorn until she developed more of a personality. A lot of G4 fans DESPISE Pipp by the way for being a stereotypical Zoomer princess rather than being a model hairstylist version of Rarity which is what we got now.
Like for the longest time until MYM and TYT fleshed them out G5 was pretty despised for daring to be a sequel and bronies heaped unreasonable expectations on the series. It still has quite a vocal hatedom and Discord is at the very least partialy to blame for that.

As for Discord, the G5 IDW “redemption” ruined him for me and I feel like G5 gets a lot of uneeded hate as a result of Discord’s return, especially given aside from a recorded message from Shy, and some from Twilight he’s the ONLY G4 character to appear. I wanted to see an older, wiser, Wonderbolts Captain RD interact with Zipp.

Guys, I actually like Rainbow Dash. I even call her Dashie most of the time. It was all just jokes and the funny. Don’t take it so seriously. :P

No, you know what the actual problem is? A huge percentage of Fluttershy’s fans are fine with her being cruel to everypony else, but if anypony is the least bit cruel to her, they become targets of unrelenting hate. Discord got forgiven for the most part but characters like Dash, Gilda, and ESPECIALLY Angel Bunny, are less fortunate and frequently treated awful by Flutters fans. Mr Enter even called Angel Bunny “the most evil MLP character ever!” at first I thought it was part of the meme, but I think he meant it.
Like did people not watch the rest of that episode? Dash literally trades the Orthos to get Fluttershy what she wants over what she wanted in the following scene.
I respect people who respect and like a character because/in spite of their flaws, but admitting they don’t have any is an extremely close minded way to think.

It’s not your fault. Everyone has hatred for poor Dash sadly. They never bring up the other Ponies flaws and mistakes but they always bring up Dash’s mistakes and flaws and make her out to be the worst Pony ever. Some people just want to make others miserable because they are miserable deep down.

And Fluttershy hasn’t called her friends and their occupations “worthless pursuits that nopony else gives a flying feather about!” in episodes like in Putting Your Hoof Down? I get she was pushed to the limit, but honestly your waifu has plenty of cracks in her too, so don’t judge Dashie. :V
Then there’s Fake it Till You make it where she was awful to everyone and thought she was better than everyone else.
