What annoys me the most is the artstyle from the series, it didn’t had to keep in the 3d style, but was that simple and boring style needed? Its so ugly
Many cartoons use “calarts style” and some are good, but pony life and that new series just….meh..

The redesign this person made is also really great, the original one colors makes my eyes hurt
Why is the purple so strong instead of something more pleasuring to the eyes
Guess hasbro indeed wanted to make the bronies go away, guess it worked, now its indeed intended only for children who like everything they see (although i know some bronies still like g5 anyways)

Taking away the whole undo of G4, G5 by itself without it is still lack luster in so many ways. Even ignoring the animation, they don’t have reasons for random magic bursts of power. Sure G4 was spamming that at the end, but G5 has a more “magic solves everything” when it comes to villains. It’s why, unironicaly, SPROUT was one of the better villain boss fights.
Opaline’s first fight was kinda okay, showing how Misty without magic has to save her trapped friends.
The second time? Opaline straight up won and then… Magical Song Attack from all the ponies.
I THINK what they were going for was that everyone had enough of Opaline’s nonsense, but they could have like maybe stormed her castle or something? Instead just… Ex machina rainbow powers… How and why?
Opaline has a clean slate at the beginning, such a waste of a character.
