Same, I like to imagine they got a lot closer as they realized they were kind of always there for each other. I’ve always liked the push and pull in their relationship; Discord’s love for Fluttershy never seemed romantic in nature to me, if anything she showed more signs of loving him that way than he did of loving her like that, whereas with Twilight you could always sense that tension in the air. Also, she’d be pretty good at putting up with his shit, Discord needs someone to keep tabs on him and Fluttershy at times reminds me more of a probation officer than a romantic partner.
