Indeed.

hold the phone, if they’re given the chance to being immortal again, then that means they’ll need to make a choice, either live forever and watch their “BFs” die eventually, or chose to have normal lives with them till their own death, and yes I know it’s a little morbid of me saying that, yet being immortal comes at a DEEP price, it always does.

Reasonable concern but I think the key point here is everyone is just going by what they know. Could that imply Celestia change her mind if she interacted with the Sirens as well?

I don’t have any plans to end the series in the foreseeable future. I’m having too much fun! :)

Yeah, seems like Celestia is being reasonable in forcing Twilight and Luna to justify their intentions. Wasn’t it Reagan that said “trust but verify”? (or was that Churchill?) In any event, that’s what a good leader does, makes sure it’s covered from all angles.

Sounds like Luna might still be a little bitter about that “1000 years on the moon” thing.

Yeah, I did my best to play this so that both sides have reasonable points.

I can see where Celestia’s coming from. One of my biggest gripes with the show was how the ponies blindly trusted people who were once their enemies.

Twilight, it would have been your responsibility anyway.

I see. But the future question is: Do they want to fix themselves? Sonata clearly wants to stay with her boyfriend despite believing she’ll still outlive him as she currently is. And in all the centuries the three sisters have existed, they never actually seemed happy until just recently. Their life was all about feeding, and moving on. Now they don’t have to be nomads anymore, they’ve formed meaningful friendships and relationships, and they have a home that’s not a van. Sure they can’t have kids with normal ponies as far as I know. But if I lived the long and hard lives they lived, I might welcome the sudden mortality.

Compelling argument Luna makes. Twilight has had more success in less than ten years than Celestia had in a thousand. That said, I’m curious about one detail. If the gems weren’t restored, would the sirens outwardly age just like normal ponies? Or would it all just be internal with their outside appearances not changing?

Fair enough criticism, in general and in this case.

My thought was her basically running on habits and inertia, so needing to be reminded of what she already knows and is losing sight of, before she comes around. Because even in the show, she does have a history of just imprisoning or banishing instead of reforming.

Sometimes we can get stuck in our ways even if we know they aren’t what they should be, and need to raise the next generation to be better than us.

I see why you went with this, but I never like it when Celestia–or any of the princesses, they all get used like this–gets the But They’re Bad Guys Ball and forgets everything they’ve learned, and moreover, taught, about friendship. In this instance, Luna even brings those up and it doesn’t even slow Tia down. It really undermines her faith in her own values, and her faith in her student and sister.

Hmmm, playing Rarity here for a minute, but I think Twilight needs a belt with those slacks. Some small amount of ornamentation to break the line.
