@northern haste
Searching google for “How many seasons of My Little Pony: Make Your Mark?” gives 2 seasons and on the G5 wiki, it says the following: “On September 17, 2020, Hasbro attended an online Russian licensing summit where it was announced that a 44-minute special would premiere in Spring 2022, followed by the release of season one of an untitled G5 television show in Fall that year, and season two of that same show the following year.” Chapter 1 (the 44-minute special) aired May 2022 and Chapter 2 aired September 2022, so that checks out. What they are calling season 2 would be set 2023, which is clearly Chapter 4. So that sounds like we’re in Season 2.
Equestria Daily also has an article about the first 2 seasons in which this promotional image is shown also mentioning 2 seasons.
Also, “anyone can edit Wikipedia” is a tired old excuse to devalue Wikipedia as a source for anything, as if it’s dozens of references and citations don’t exist. Gets old after a while. It’s also highly regulated so any vandalism or misinformation stays for very long, especially if it’s about a currently running show, where it would need verified sources.

@northern haste
They still operate as seasons given that the most reason season is already over and was only the 7 episodes of chapter 4. It still doesn’t change the fact that each release is still less than an average season (being 12 episodes, MYM never gets anything in the double digits)

Hopefully if MYM is dropped they revamp the artstyle so they actually look like their 3D counterparts. Izzy has poofy hair that she never had, Zipp’s face is pure uncanny valley, Pipp’s hooves are orange when they’re supposed to be gold, most of their proportions are not only wrong but god awful to look at. The worst offender is Misty’s redesign. They show her pre-redesign in the episode based on the last MYM episode, and nothing is explained on why she looks different? She just looks different, just because. Her old design was honestly fine. I don’t get why they felt the need to change it, they didn’t bother changing it for MYM. Only reason I can see is putting a lazy gradient effect on her mane and tail is easier to do than her old design I guess? But they still could’ve kept the better colors. Her new colors just clash with her coat and she looks more generic background pony now.
The other issue is: expressions. It’s obvious that TYT’s artstyle is far less expressive than not just the movie but MYM as well. FiM was 2D and very expressive with the character’s facial expressions, regardless of season. But TYT’s facial expressions are so bare-bones.
Perhaps they could salvage MYM by having it taken up by a completely different service or network.

Good riddance Make Your Mark.
Insufferable writing, animation quality that would make even a 2012 show cringe, executive micromanaging…Tell Your Tale is far from perfect, but it sure manages to be a more mature and entertaining show than you most of the time.
So please, let the door hit your rump on the way out; maybe you can finally have a shred of slapstick comedy…or any comedy, for once.
I honestly found most of Tell Your Tale to be less mature and entertaining than Make Your Mark. At least Make Your Mark doesn’t have characters havfing long stubby limbs, uncanny valley esque faces, and cringe fart fetish bait in the episodes. And at least Make Your Mark didn’t have Misty get redesigned just because she became good (which makes literally no sense by the way).
The writing may be poor for MYM but again so is TYT. Both have subpar writing. The animation quality is not as noticeable as people think, but if you’re knowledgeable in animating it is hard to not notice.
Imagine thinking that MYM doesn’t have any comedy, when it wasn’t meant to be as funny as 5 minute shorts that aren’t plot-relevant. It’s obviously more serious than the shorts for obvious reasons. But if we’re going to talk about funnny don’t try to put cringe shorts that cater to fart fetishists and subpar jokes on a higher pedestal.
I’ll be honest, if they drop MYM I’m certainly just dropping G5 entirely, I don’t want to stuck looking at Zipp’s diamond-shaped head, peg-leg looking hooves, and characters that hardly even resemble their 3d selves at all.
If they don’t restructure it into a better 2D series with a better artstyle, then I’m not touching it. It was painful enough to catch up to where the shorts are now. I just hate them so much.
Oh, and it’d be a bad business decision to use the 5 minute shorts as the sole way to continue the plot. Do you want it to become Chargeman Ken? Because that’s how it becomes Chargeman Ken.

Well, let’s look at this logically:
Make Your Mark:
Drop in animation quality from the movie.
Requires subscription to a streaming service.
Months between new content drops.
Tell Your Tale:
Very decent 2D animation quality.
Free on YouTube.
Never more than a month between episodes.
If TYT is the more successful series, it’s not hard at all to see why. If TYT gets plot-heavy, 22-minute episodes, this could be the right move.
Let’s be honest. MYM being on Netflix was a mistake. The fact Netflix is slow to add episodes for any shows I watch is infuriating enough but they decided MYM has to have these nonsensical patterns for the seasons. Season 1? A 1hr special. Season 2? 8 normal-length episodes. Season 3? A 1hr special. Season 4? 7 normal-length episodes.
The specials counting towards the actual season rather than being separate from it is one thing but having an entire season just be 1 whole special that’s about 2 or 3 normal episodes in length is just stupid. It’s a terrible structure and should be more concise. 13 episodes or more per season I think is good enough instead.
The TYT animation is only very decent in that it doesn’t have as much animation errors. Not even mentioning the lazy artstyle clearly ripped off of Steven Universe’s artstyle, many animations because of the artsyle and the way they have characters move just make it look weird at times. Especially when there’s any type of dynamic movement from the characters. There’s honestly no reason to have these weird movements or deviate from the more successful (and perfectly fine) G4 artstyle. I always expected a 2D G5 to be more like G4’s artsyle but more updated and a bit more detailed, but they nuke it for something lazy and uninspired.
Not to mention a lot of the cast hardly resemble their 3d selves, especially Izzy and Pipp. I remember when Izzy had poofy hair and Pipp had orange hooves…
I should also mention, relying on TYT to tell story defeats the whole purpose of TYT. It’s clearly meant to be a less story-driven version on the side to tide people off until the new plot-driven episodes release. Hence the short runtime of 5 minutes. If they LEGITIMATELY think having the main plot driven by a series of 5 minute shorts, it’s just going to have Chargeman Ken syndrome. 5 minutes is not enough time to drive a plot.

I only hope they will improve the art style if they decide to move forward with only TYT… I love MYM’s art style a lot more. The TYT art style is way too CalArts for my liking tbh. (Although chubby Pipp is really cute!)
I agree. Not to mention the proportions are really bad for certain animations such as running (ie: when Posey ran from Izzy it just looks really off). Even worse is how they look too different from their 3d counterparts. Izzy’s hair isn’t that poofy and Pipp definitely doesn’t have orange hooves. But I think the worst thing TYT has done is have Misty get a complete redesign and made her main/tail colors worse and even placed a gradient effect on it making it look out of place compared to everyone else. Meanwhile, on MYM she doesn’t seem to have a redesign after turning good. At least, not so far and how she doesn’t.

Solar Supporter - Fought against the New Lunar Republic rebellion on the side of the Solar Deity (April Fools 2023).

Western corporations have completely forgotten how to business. They made an expensive production pipeline for the movie, then just discarded it and gave MYM to a new team with bootleg-tire deadline to finish.
It’s even worse in the rest of Hollywood, but I’m kinda terrified of what’s going on with the world.

It seems that right now TYT is not allowed to be plot heavy because MYM.
If TYT is allowed to drive the main plot I think that it will not be a bad thing.
The action scenes are far better in TYT, Sunny vs Opaline is an example.
The only problem is the 5 minutes by episode thingy.
