Well, Sort of. When I said “bottleneck” I was thinking more like it might take at most around a month for all the VAs to the their parts done and sent off. Thought, you’re right that if it takes them exorbitant (months-and-months) amounts of time finish their parts, then (from a fan perspective) it would certainly feel like they’d quit.

Sadly true… though maybe not entirely a bad thing? After all if all the characters were fully explored in the canonical material, the fandom would be left with little space to creatively expand/explore the characters. Even so, I still wouldn’t mind a lot of the characters getting a little more characterization…

If a VA says won’t be avalible to record until 2052 because he/she is to busy with something else. She might quit the project althogether and it would be the same thing.

Huh, I hadn’t even considered the idea that one of the VAs would quit… that… that would be really sad, because it would probably spell the end of the whole project (since the sound of the voices in a Radio Play are really how people identify the characters.). … Well I sure hope that doesn’t happen!
 
I was more worried that the VAs might become the bottle neck, especially since some of them are fairly big names (Nowacking and ElieMonty) and probably have actual paid fandom-related VA work that they’ll prioritize.

Well she isn’t exactly best pony… more like tragically under-used pony. But then, I’m probably saying that because I read “Heart of Gold, Feathers of Steel” and enjoyed how it deepened/rounded out her character.

I imagine the longest chapters, the ones over 150 pages long, will be two-parters with an appropiate radio-play clifffhanger.
 
But i still thing the best they can do is one month, as far as i am aware of, they are still figuring out the most efficient way to produce the play.  
After all you do not cut the production time by 5 months if your process is fully efficiented.
 
Yet as you commented, it would not be unexpected if one or more of the VA´s, writers, etc decide to “quit” due the lack of compensation.
 
At least they are doing better than the animation. Or so i am being told…

A month is fairly optimistic, especially considering chapters like “The Shadow of the Ministries”. I’d think we be lucky to even get on every two months (especially since it is all a nonprofit)… so about 9 years? I’ll probably still be ponying by then. Maybe? Hopefully…
 
And I think you may have misinterpreted my comment. I wasn’t making fun of your grammar (which is actually pretty good, especially if this isn’t your native tongue), but rather I was practicing one of the things this fandom does best: bluntly critiquing a minor issue with the canonical story line in a way that clearly wasn’t influenced (in the slightest!) by my personal like of a certain underused avian character. Yep! I’m pretty much the picture of objectivity over here. ;P

And just for the sake of optimism. If the radio play productiong time goes down to a month per chapter. (Which in my humble opinion is a very idealized scenario, yet possible) It will only take 4 years to complete. Long time yet acceptable.

He survived long enough to have a mental breakdown because it finally hit him that he wasn’t immortal and couldn’t protect his men the way he thought he could.
 
At least I thought he was a sergeant. Could have been a higher ranking officer… I’ll need to double back on that.

Yeah, looking too far into the future can be disheartening… If you think of it we can’t even know that the fandom will last past the next season… All we can really do is hope for the best, and enjoy the fruits of these projects’ labors in the mean time.

That’s one lucky soldier. Hopefully he got to a doctor in time. It would horribly ironic if he survived being shot in the head only to die from the resulting a concussion hours later.

There are a lot cool, high quality, fan projects revolving FoE.
 
Sadly due to the sheer lenght of the fic i doubt we will ever see them completed.(Well maybe the game if we are lucky)
 
For example if the guys at the radio play keep producing at the same speed. They will finish the story in 20 years. By the time MLP G6 is a thing.

I’ve heard stories too of soldiers in action taking bullets to their helmet. They don’t kill them, but it’s enough that the shock carries on into their head and knocks them out. In once case a sergeant (I think) was knocked out in Afghanistan when an insurgent’s bullet hit his helmet. His squad mates thought he had died, but moments later he sat back up. Dazed, but not dead.

Yeah, its a common misconception that helmets are meant to protect the head from all forms of trauma. For instance, in the armed forces, they’re used to protect against shrapnel (grenades/mines/small debris/etc), and not so much bullets or blunt force trauma. Oppositely, cycling helmets are designed to crumple and adsorb the force of large blows (like you would find in a biking crash), but are pretty much paper when it comes to stopping small sharp objects flying at high speeds (shrapnel).
 
TLDR: These ponies should’ve been wearing cycling helmets.

Well to be perfectly honest, helmets may protect the skull from blows, but not the brain suddenly slamming against the inner wall of the skull and forcing a concussion.
 
The act of damaging blows to the head just get a lot less messy, really.

Those helmets did a shit job of protecting them from blows to the head.

Sadly, I doubt that would happen. The game team has been going for months now, so I doubt they need any more animators. And the team that is trying to fully animate it is using Flash to do the animation.
