Honestly that’s probably why I don’t ship Hitch with any of the Mane Five (even though I do find any of them okay). It’s like MLP’s way of saying “Hey kids, boys and girls can just be friends too!”

I know everyone is trying to make shipping jokes and stuff, but I honestly love the fact that we finally see healthy female/male friendship representation in a children’s show. Men and women rarely get to have close bonds with each other without them being related or it being about romance, so I really appreciate Hitch’s inclusion in the cast.
And not gonna lie, it is kind of sad that if Hitch were female, at least half his scenes with any of the girls that are considered to be shippy would probably not be considered as such anymore. I at least don’t think anyone would bat an eye if it were Izzy or Sunny there with Pipp instead.
