“Command center to Romeo Papa Seven, over” A voice was overheard in the telecommunications tower, as some people watched with binoculars in their eyes, inspecting the luscious blue sky that expanded itself vastly high above anyone, only being blocked partially by the small clouds that dared to get onto the way of such colossal blue creature. There were also other ponies that weren’t currently marveled at the grand cyan atmosphere towering other them, but instead preferred the darkness of the control room, while they cautiously and diligently glanced through the several monitors and radars that conformed one of the many technological areas in the building, seeing how the radar sweep picked up multiple objectives with a cute little ‘ping’ every time, recognizing also the airplanes that were friendly with visible markings and identification, and correctly guessing their latitude, altitude and longitude across the landscape.
“I’m here, over!” Said an energetic voice on the other side of the intercom, as the one that was currently paying attention to the headphones and maintaining communication with the creature in the sky gave a figurative ‘thumbs up’ of ‘everything’s going well’ to the high-ranked officer in the room alongside them. His uniform a rather handsome white with yellow markings belonging to the Solar Empire, and also a peaked cap with the insignia of the sun and various ‘leaves’ indicating that he was a major general witnessing the events. “Romeo Papa Seven, can you see the objectives?”. There was also a light-blue colored Pegasus, with rainbow mane, and the bearer of the Element of Loyalty. She had asked Celestia herself to be here and, since she had saved Equestria a lot of times, she was allowed. She probably would’ve enjoyed it more being directly in the action, seeing them physically and very closely, but alas, because safety concerns she was forced to watch the scene through the many cameras the fighters had, to her eternal chagrin. She was cutely staring and glancing repeatedly through each one of them as to not miss anything
The one that was currently in the sky, a plane pony with a beautiful camouflage pattern of sorts that went from light-blue to slightly-darker-light-blue and blended surprisingly well against the stratosphere blue, replied excitedly with a “Yes, 6 bogeys in total in my radar, 11 o’clock 2 kilometers, awaiting instructions, over”. Her fly was slow, almost as if she was about to stall herself, but actually conserving energy for the engagement and also watching from ‘afar’ the ‘enemies’ that appeared in their screen, and the four friendly aircraft that also appeared flying in an echelon formation to her right side.
“Understood, you’re cleared to engage. Begin the drill… ah, and make us proud, out” The intercom said as it sparked to life for a few precious instants before deactivating itself with a cacophony of radio silence. “Shall do so command! Squadron, we have authorization to attack. Commit to nearest fighter bandits.” Ravist said through the mutual intercom that the members of the squadron shared, as they started to gain kinetic energy and as such, increase their airspeed while they concurrently increased the power in their engines. The speed they had attained was such that they had actually managed to break the sound barrier, creating an explosive sound like if a bunch of C4 had been activated in your vicinity. They were basically a blur, as they approached fast the enemies in the sky that dared to cross their airspace, themselves being also friendly pilots in this demonstration, but behaving as enemies protecting some bombers for the sake of the engagement.
The enemies, finding themselves chased from behind, broke the formation in order to offer vital protection to the defenseless bombers, who tried to go on with their travel as if they hadn’t realized they were being chased. The enemy fighters flew straight to Ravist’s formation as they attempted to get a lock onto the enemy aircraft using their medium-range radar guided missiles. Thankfully, Ravist and her wingman’s radar-cross section were minimal due to the materials that they were made of and their design with long and blended fuselage, aside from the electronic warfare equipment they carried. The enemies seemed to have a bit of difficulty in attempting to lock on, which was taken as a advantage for Ravist, the leader of her squadron, as she could hear the costant
Beeep-beeep-beeep-beeep-beeep-beeep-beeep-beeep-beeep
That emanated from… well… inside her… in her head… it’s hard to explain, very complex plane pony stuff… anyways that meant she was attempting to use her acquisition radar to get a lock onto the enemy fighters speeding towards her and her group, being close enough that the search radar had already detected them. The other wingmen she had attempted to do the same with varying success, as the enemy fighters, upon receiving the information that they were ‘painted’ in their Radar Warning Receiver, tried to make the damnedest to avoid being locked on while at the same time attempting to get a lock onto anypony of Ravist’s squadron. After a few anxious-filled, adrenaline-laced seconds, the tracking, or “set-on” radar went online, the next stage after ‘acquiring’ the prey, and the moment when the audio feed became from relatively constant beeps to a ‘flatline’…
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep…
…meant that these presents were ready to send. “Fox three” One of the wingmen, the one next to Ravist, said as a cylindrical object fell down from him, in a span of a few milliseconds starting their engines and speeding past the J-20 plane ponies, decidedly and vehemently starting their race of destruction against the enemy aircraft, leaving a trail of white-ish smoke behind it.
“Fox three” Ravist said shortly afterwards, firing her own missile as it quickly, like a lightning bolt, made his way towards the plone foes in front of them, yet still travelling a fair distance considering they were still very very far away. Almost immediately as a response to this, their radar emissions suddenly became blurry and unfocused, indicating they had activated their jamming countermeasures, but worry not, that these missiles also had the ‘home-on-jam’ characteristic, and despite the vain attempts of avoiding the collision, one had reached their target and exploded in bright paint. A shout of “FUCK” was heard through the intercom as that very fighter flew out of the combat zone, to not intervene since they were supposed to be dead already. A pyrotechnic smoke generator showcasing the ‘damaged’ black and yellow ‘fiery’ smoke behind the fighter.
As for the second missile, the one Ravist had fired, the determinator one, was trying it’s best to get onto the second fighter, which had decided to make a sharp Immelman and pretty much retreat from the zone. A cloud of gray suddenly manifested itself behind the fighter’s wake, as tiny stripes of metal burst out of their respective containers in order to fool the missile… It was partly effective, but after the aircraft left the safety of the chaff cloud, it proceeded to hit him, because that missile knows where it is at all times because it knows where it isn’t
But Ravist couldn’t enjoy the accomplishment she just had before her own Radar Warning Receiver became active, roaring back to life with a very alarming and very surprising
Bep-bop-bep-bop-bep-bop-bep-bop-bep-bop
This one indicating that now she wasn’t targeting the enemies, but the enemies were actively targeting her… well to be fair she was still painting the enemies, but this meant that the unfriendly plones now were trying to get their own lock onto her. The squadron split almost immediately, each one doing their respective maneuvers to avoid staying too much time in their crosshairs. But as the audio stopped becoming slowly repetitive, it sounded with a more urgent tone…
BEPBEPBEPBEPBEPBEPBEPBEPBEPBEPBEPBEPBEPBEPBEP!
…Like if someone had decided to go nuts in a piano and play Rush E, it was a definitely shocking sound that told Ravist someone had fired a missile onto her, or at the very least, locked onto her appropriately to fire one. She saw to her side as she maneuvered, and could correctly recognize the missile speeding towards her in their own little mad race, cruising through the sky like some kind of self-propelled explodey bullet with the only intent to rip Pisum to shreds… or well in this case paint her a bright red and make her look bad in front of high command and Rainbow Dash… and she was having none of that! With a quick turn as the active-radar homing missile inched closer and closer towards her in a supersonic speed, she managed to put the durability and maneuverability of her design to the test as she let out a little “CONFETTI!”; the brevity code to explain you just dropped a glorious chaff conflagration to avoid lock on, at the same time using her radar jamming and flying like a wild weasel.
It was successful, when the missile had reached the ‘suspected position’ of Ravist, product of the jammer and the chaff, the real Ravist was 90° away and since the missile had bleed too much energy, it just glided towards somewhere random, already losing lock of the target. But in this period the long range sniping had become a close range pistol-knife fight, while the conflagration became a furball kerfuffle of awesomeness as every aircraft tried to either get a lock on the IR missiles (If they were far enough) or use their own guns towards the enemies. Tracers flew around, some red, some green as the various jets tried to get into an appropriate gun position to engage, the ‘bombers’ (One of them recognized as an AWACS when it suddenly started casting a high amount of radio waves and literally being a lighthouse in the passive radar) continuing their flight away from the bar fight as if nothing was happening.
Just in time, as Ravist was trying to get onto the fight, she could perceive the enemy AWACS radar signature, and as she readied one of her anti-radiation missiles, her wingmen realized what was happening and covered her, not that it did matter much anyways, the match was already ending; only two of the original four enemy fighters remained to fight Ravist’s 4. Successfully locking onto the ‘noise’ emitted by the huge radar in the top of the aircraft, the only word she uttered afterwards was “Magnum”, as the anti-radiation missile fell down from her plone figure, igniting engines and blasting off the sky like Team Rocket, getting lost in the distance as they flew towards the source of radiation, like a little kid running towards the ice cream van. At the same time, she also fired one terminal semi-active radar homing (TSARH) missile, identifying it with the brevity code “Fox One”, performing an evasive maneuver to get one of the fighters off her tail as the missile went their way by inertial guidance, before proceeding to get her attention back onto the missile as it got closer towards the extremely far away bomber, guiding the ammunition she just used with her own, more powerful AESA radar, performing a ‘crank’ (Maneuvering beyond the range of a missile; illuminating target at radar gimbal limits).
And then the bright paint exploded with the cyan blue sky as a background when the anti-radiation missile, being launched first, got closer and closer towards the Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft, their proximity fuse being activated and covering the helpless 4-engined with bright blue paint, indicating a kill which Ravist notified through the corresponding brevity code. Shortly afterwards the second, terminal missile regained radar lock and hit the bomber (Why there was a bomber and an AWACS together escorted by fighters is beyond this narrator) She immediately did a horizontal scissors, reversing the turn and forcing the last enemy plone (While she was busy the second one was shot down) to overshoot her as he flew past with too much speed. The fact that Ravist was highly maneuverable aided greatly in her fighter maneuvers as she got in line with the enemy and, seeing it had managed to get away a mile from her in a dive, attaining kinetic energy, she maintained pure pursuit, and on the lock-on she fired one of her IR missiles while at the same time changing to a lead pursuit stance and blazing her guns against the target, letting out a cute yet excited “Fox Two! I got you now!”. It seemed that while her wingmen were attacking him, he had managed to elude them and get an potential energy (altitude) advantage over Ravist, executing a high-side guns pass/Boom n Zoom, but since he had missed his shot, now he had to either run away using his kinetic energy or attempt to make any defensive maneuver, seeing as he was now attacked. He tried to do an Split S while at the same time expelling a vast amount of flares one after another in order to take the missile away from their tail, but he didn’t escape the fiery 20mm guns of Ravist and her squadron as everyone clumped onto the poor lone plone, neither he could escape the missile, which impacted successfully onto him after he was hit by various SAPHEI-T (Semi Armor Piercing High Explosive Incendiary Tracer)… or at the very least practice rounds that were supposed to stand in for the real munitions, leaving both a big and bright blue splotch alongside other smaller ones from the shells.
“Ah damnit, didn’t have much chance anyways” The ‘enemy’ fighter said and slowed down until he was flying with Ravist’s team. Finally showcasing that this was all just a training exercise and demonstration for high command in regards to why the new airplane models are better. The cute little lieutenant Ravist, now that her professionalism was over, was actually giddy and excited this went so well, and she was happily enjoying the idea of actively making Rainbow Dash proud, or even, impressing/amazing her. “Hehehe, let’s get back to base. You guys did well don’t worry” She added, patting the marked pony in the back with one fluffy blue hoof. “Wanna wait for the chunky bois?” She added, pointing at the two slower and bigger plones coming from the north-east, one of them an AWACS.
Before she was able to be replied appropriately by any of her underlings, she suddenly heard the radio equipment she had installed spark back to life temporarily “Good job, this is Command Center, you definitely made us pro-THATWASBUCKINGAMAZINGIWANNAMEETEVERYONEOFTHESQUADRON!” The radio congratulation was interrupted by the scratchy voice of a certain Rainbow Pegasus that had took the intercom from the officer like if it was hers and hers only, the accused officer feeling a bit insulted by that reaction. Ravist’s serious yet happy smile utterly changed to a giddy and delighted smile upon hearing these words…

Even when I draw war plones doing war related things like firing war ordnance and war heatseeking missiles I make it the cutest I can Xd
This is a cute art gift I did for RavistDash’s because every time I see her ponysona I ‘daaaaw’. I don’t know if it’s her appearance, RavistDash’s adorable and super fluffy style I took as inspiration for, or perhaps that adorable mane in accordance with her blue… or perhaps it’s the apparent personality I pick up from the drawings including her? Either way I just had to draw her
The airplane she is right now it’s a Chengdu J-20 Mighty Dragon, a twinjet all-weather stealth fighter made by China for the PLAAF, basically an air-superiority fighter similar to the F-22. It made sense in my mind cuz of Ravist Pisum’s nationality and all that, and I’m glad to hear that it’s Ravist’s favorite aircraft so I made a good choice x3
Also yes yes I realized way too late that the J-20 doesn’t have onboard guns, apologies D:. And in the drawing I imagine it’s the very end when she ends up firing the IR missile and strafe the poor last survivor of the ‘enemy’ team x3
Aside from that, well, her camouflage I based off the one the real aircraft has, but since that one has light-gray/dark-gray camouflage, I decided to go along with light-blue/lighter-blue cuz it fits her… right? Tell me it does plz D:. And of course made her look robotic (sort of) and included Rainbow Dash in the story cuz it’s RavistDash’s favorite poner. Also I drew her Cutie Mark in the vertical stabilizers… um… er… maybe V-Tail empennage with a dihedral angle, ruddervators? Idk how to call them XP sorry, but anyway, drew her Cutie Mark there, and used a darker cyan color reminiscent of her mane colors
Aside from that, well, she’s just breaking the sound barrier, hence the motion lines and the ‘water drop’ effect behind her, and of course the onomatopoeias defining what’s going on XP. In retrospect this made me realize I have like a childish kind of drawing style XP.
So yeah, have a cute giant Ravist Pisum that’s absurdly fluffy yet capable of destroying entire cities with a seemingly custom-built rotary autocannon and missiles XP. Hope RavistDash likes this :3
Also Romeo, Papa is just R and P in Phonetic Alphabet of the NATO, the Seven is just a random normal number x3
(And just a random thought; plane ponies have the ability to shrink and grow by default, so imagine how fun it’d be :3)
