I also like the link drawn between Gallus and Twilight here. It does sometimes feel to me that Gallus is the equivalent of the Element of Magic in the Young Six. It’s certain that of all of them, he started with the least and has the most to gain from embracing friendship, which is sort of analogous to how Twilight was at the beginning of the show having no friends, albeit in a much more stark and dramatic fashion.
