Gypsy Melody is a 37 year old earth pony mare originally from a small, remote, unnamed, and now abandoned settlement relatively near Sire’s Hollow, but is currently living from a caravan while she travels Equestria. She does not have an official job, but she acts more like a bard character from many fantasy settings.
It is noted that she has an accent that is soft and lilting, but is unlike any other known dialect of Equestria. The prevailing theory is that it was a peculiarity unique to the village that she grew up in, but any further insight into this will have to be appended here at a later date.
Gypsy Melody manages to survive from money and tips paid to her during or after performances and stories told in bars and streets, and though she is no miser, she is frugal when it comes to money matters. A lot of her food supply is often foraged for on a daily basis- fruits and berries being a particular favourite- especially blackberries.
Physically, she is of average size and at great level of general fitness- which is unsurprising considering how she travels at a brisk trot at almost all times, even while hauling her heavy and well built caravan. She does have a little “junk in the trunk,” so to speak, and is considered rather pretty my many ponies who meet her.
Well known for her beautiful singing voice, a visit from the jovial Gypsy Melody often draws a modest crowd, and that’s just the way she likes it. She is also skilled with a harp and a lute, and often plays while singing. Additionally, she is an experienced storyteller who loves nothing more than to teach ponies of their species’ past.
When it comes to more personal matters, Gypsy Melody is bisexual and currently single, with a slight preference towards female partners, though she is not especially choosy regarding the actual species of a partner, to be quite honest. As long as a prospective suitor treats her with care, respect, and honesty, then she would give them a fair chance.
