I think you’d be fine. The ponies have trusted far worse than changelings, and seem to be bigger dickbags to ponies like Fluttershy and Trixie than they do changelings. Besides, there doesn’t seem to be any kind of cost to staying in disguise, and

so a changeling could just roll up to the party looking like the pony equivalent of Chris Pratt :P

Actually, that was a gigantic missed opportunity, to have a long-time background character reveal themselves as a changeling after Thorax showed up. Imagine how wild it would have been if after Spike made his big song about Thorax being a good guy, like Berry Punch or Caramel had fwoomphed into a changeling and just been like “yeah, me too. You ain’t special, Thorax” XD
