That escalated quickly.
I don’t know what exactly you’re talking about, but I don’t really care. Post them where the people who are interested want them, I guess. I’m just warning you now that stuff will get zapped here.
Not here, because there’s no place for them and will get deleted summarily. I don’t care what you do otherwise.
Congrats on digging up a 2 month dead thread to say shit.
Those arguments are really fucking stupid and I could pick them apart one by one.
But hey, doubles.
>Look at how she panicked when the timberwolves attacked: was that behaviour decent for a princess?
I don’t know, maybe timberwolves were really that scary.
But introvert? She’s already way more social than she used to be. And the not deserving part, she already saved Equestria like three times, four if counting the crystal empire. …yes, with ample help from her friends, but still.
Definitely.
That also means that she has to improve first.
Look at how she panicked when the timberwolves attacked: was that behaviour decent for a princess?
>She doesn’t deserve it
>She’s not ready for it
>She’s an introvert
Okay, I can agree the executive meddling part, but seriously, I find the above reasons a bit shaky. Isn’t the point of character development is to see her improve on her flaws?
My problem was with the fandom’s decision to not have a spoiler warning, not the writers in leaking the image. It was unavoidable to not have the big event spoiled for you. Because of this, I can understand why people would leave the fandom until MLP: FiM stopped airring so they wouldn’t have the next episode spoiled for them.
Yeah, and she’s a talking pony too.
That’s not the point, man. It’s still a metaphore.
A learning experience for the writers.
It was to our benefit, but not to the writers. If it didn’t get spoiled, the writers may not have gotten as much flack. We would have been focused on sorting out our feelings about Twilicorn for longer after the episode aired, instead of immediately dissecting all the problems with the episode itself. No-one really wins in the end though, except Hasbro.
So, spoiling Twilicorn is to the show’s benefit?
I don’t know if keeping Twilicorn under wraps would have improved the situation or made it worse. We had a full month of drama leading up to the episode itself, and by the time it aired we were already sick of discussing it. On the other hand, if the bomb had been dropped on us all at once, we still probably would have had a shitstorm over it, and I for one wouldn’t have disliked the idea any less just because it was a surprise.
I think we were surprised enough just seeing it on Equestria Daily. Whether it happened a month before the episode or if they kept it under wraps, there still would have been massive fallout over Twilight becoming an alicorn. Because we were already dealing with it before the episode aired though, after the episode we immediately started ripping apart all of the problems with the episode’s writing rather than focusing on just the controversy over Twilicorn herself.
I think ultimately, spoiling Twilicorn worked out worse for the writers. If we had been blindsided by Twilicorn, all of the episode’s other problems would not have been as immediately noticeable, and it would take a while for the Twilicorn shitstorm to die down before people started deconstructing the episode itself and noticing that it was kind of broken even besides Twilicorn being in it.
I mean like “spoiler warning.”
But whether kids believe it or not, some things are unrealistic. And no, she is literally becoming a princess here.
Celestia: Twilight Sparkle, you are going to be an alicorn AND YOU ARE GONNA LIKE IT!!!
