“I choose…” Astral said, looking at her family then to her friends. “to fight you.”

Azrael laughed and gave her a sly smile. “Two princess couldn’t defeat me, what makes you think you can?”

“Because I have something you don’t.” Her horn began to glow.

Cloudburst flew over to Dove and tried breaking the crystal with her hooves while Azrael was distracted. Magnolia followed suit and started to chip away at Ambrosia’s crystals. Ambrosia smiled at Magnolia and tried to help her. Ginger Gold and Crescenda went over to help. Toffee went over to Cadance and Shining Armor and tried to get them out of the throne room. Dove watched Azrael and Astral fight with a horror struck look across her face. Azrael’s magic was more focused on Astral than the crystal heart so once Dove was out of crystals, she immediately took it back. Ambrosia shot his magic at Azrael too and both Astral and Ambrosia weakened Azrael.
Dove managed to get to the top of the crystal palace and used her magic to light the crystal heart up. The crystal empire was restored to it’s former state of prestige. Shining Armor and Cadance approached Azrael and offer him their hooves.

“I’m sorry if you thought I abandoned you, Azrael..” Cadance said softly. “We can still be family.”

Azrael slapped their hooves away and glared at them. “We will never be a family. I’ll come back again to claim the throne..” Azrael then ran off into the snowy waste lands again.

Ambrosia crumbled to his knees after Azrael left. Magnolia went to his side and helped him back up.

“I think we all need some rest.” Dove said, returning to her mother’s side. “The six of you can stay the night since the journey was so long.”
