I agree that normalcy is an awkward and misguided principle, but forcing someone to be subjected to the negative effects of your own beliefs on a matter when they didn’t ask for it is just as wrong if not worse. Treat others in a way they consider okay. It’s not that hard.

@Northern Well all those people should just get bent as well. Normalcy sounds like a terrible disease, hope I never manage to contract that, or I’ll never be able to enjoy anything fun again. It’s like people are taking a look at the UK and Germany and thinking these backwards ways are the ways the whole planet should live!

If you think that’s okay, then you have some serious issues. I strongly recommend seeing a therapist, because you have a very warped definition of what is an acceptable thing to do in society. The right to freedom of speech protects the right to slander another, however it also protects the right of the slandered to tell those slandering them to ‘get bent’, and if you don’t like it then frankly YOU can ‘get bent’ because trying to tell someone that they should sit and take insults and threats with a placid and stable composure and that they should not be offended by direct insults to their person makes no sense. Need proof? Here. Offended is a word. It’s happened to so many people that somewhere down the line, a long time ago, someone decided it was an important enough concept that a word was needed for it. Taking offense is not a bad thing to do, it does not make you a ninny, it makes you a normal person, like everyone else on this planet.

@Northern That’s a very Tumblr-y thing to say. If someone gets offended they should just get bent, because obviously they’re a thin-skinned ninny who wants to thought police you and ruin all the good shows on TV and censor all your games.

Just when did not taking kindly to people offending you make you an asshole? When did caring what people think enough that you’re willing to call them out on their bullshit make you an asshole? Being a jerk to someone who’s done nothing to you earns you an earful, and calling the other person bad for giving it to you is acting like a goddamn spoiled little kid. In fact, any sympathy you may have gotten is lost the moment you admit you did something wrong in the first place. If you offended someone and they give you an earful, you earned it. End of story.

Very true. Unfortunately, the majority of internet culture celebrates being an asshole (as long as you’re one of our assholes, not one of their assholes), and bronies have decided to go along with that. Hence the cycle of assholery will continue.

For every unvalidated rumor about Tinker, there’s probably a hair of truth to be found in it. People who act like assholes to other assholes are still assholes. And it’s not like we need to make up stuff about Tinker to draw from a large repository of poor behavior.

I think you’re forgetting (or overlooking) the “this person was telling people Tinker was high on drugs and trying to murder someone with a knife” part.

You know what, though? Everybody can be redeemed as far as I’m concerned. They have to stop acting like shitheads first, though.
 
I know firsthand what it’s like to be hated by a whole slew of people… furry fandom still fucking hates my guts. It’s not like I disagree with that. I did a LOT of stuff to get them to hate me. But I’m trying to change, and that’s something that Tinker needs to try to do if she’s going to gain the trust of people.
 
I’ve always been an asshole, but at least I’m not a disingenuous one.

Purpella Tinker isn’t a guy, and the fact that you call her that shows how insensitive you’re really being. It actually hurts to be stuck in the skin of another gender, I know, I live that life every single day. Make fun of us if you will, but remember, you’re kicking the people who are already down.

Also the body looks kinda weird. I thought Tinker was facing completely straight at first, then I noticed the direction of the er….armour? And thought that hoof was actually a strap or collar. It kind of blends too well with the pose. Slightly confusing at first. Also can’t tell if meant to be anthro or not.

You know, this reminds me of something that happened today. Who has heard of retsupurae? It’s two guys who commentate over let’s play videos on youtube making fun of them, MST3K style. Sometimes the original person who made the video will laugh along with them, tell them that “yeah, I don’t know what I was thinking with such a bad video,” or if they don’t agree with retsupurae they understand it was a joke and just ignore it completely. Either way, retsupurae and their fans forget about them forever.
 
And then there was a guy who got REALLY defensive about people making fun of his youtube video this morning. He replied to most of the comments on the Retsupurae video, and made a 10 minute video insulting ‘em. He wouldn’t let it go, and between the two videos was constantly replying to people stirring up more drama and making people actively hate him, not for the video he made but for being a douche afterwards.
 
On topic, Purple Tinker is that guy. You aren’t hated for being trans or atheist or whatever. Yer hated for not being able to let ANYTHING go.

I’m not mad that you uploded it. I’m GLAD my art gets passed around - it’s part of the reason I do art - so others can see it - kiiiiiiinda the whole point. Hey people, instead of arguing about the subject matter, why not do something constructive, like…hm, I don’t know - oh! give helpful artistic critisism~! Ya know. So I can improve? Or! Why not talk about how the weather is where YOU live?
 
So many other things can be discussed, why bring PT or drama into it? le sigh. I miss the days of artistic discussion.

Sorry, I am the one who posted it here. It wasn’t so the trolls could troll… But because I really do like Tinker, and wanted to see more art of her adorable OC on here. I tried derailing the hate and yet some have to wag their e-peens to show how much they really, really hate someone or something.

PurpleTinker did not have any say in this image. I made it specifically for her birthday, NOT to cause drama. I don’t agree with what PT says half of the time. I thought she deserved a little something after dropping the whole CG fiasco.
 
Thanks guys, for doing the one thing I was trying to avoid. Stir up drama. Yeah, the poem is cheesy. My art is bad. You’re missing the key factor here - it was meant, as a gift, for PT. Not an excuse for you to flex your e-peen - yes, this is the internet.
