I’m looking forward to more bombings and bloodshed in Syria, because it means we’re that much closer to the S4 premiere.

Even though season 4 was almost certainly delayed because of Equestria Girls? I would say, looking at the facts we have so far, that it’s pretty likely that the production cycle that would normally be used to make 13 more episodes of season 3 was used instead to produce Equestria Girls. Why? Well, it would be cheaper than hiring more people at DHX, and the people who work on Pony at DHX are the ones they would probably choose to produce EG, as they had the know how and at least some of the resources already.
 
That fact that not only was the show probably delayed for EG, but also the same employees who work on Pony had to work on something many of them probably were not totally on board with kind of makes me sick to think about. It’s not even about whether or not this movie will be well made or well written. Even if it is, it was a bad idea overall, and obviously just a bid to make money. That sounds harsh but…sad to say it’s probably true…and certainly not something anyone should encourage by supporting it with with what Hasbro wants you to support it with: money.
 
I think that we have quite an interesting opportunity here, especially with the fanbase we have. I think we actually can help shape how networks (or this one at least) treat creators of shows, the people who love their shows, and their IPs in general, at least a little bit (just look at Nickelodeon and Disney - they have their faults, but at least they aren’t known for stuff like this). So…long story short, even if EqG is decent writing and animation-wise, I’m still not ever going to support it monetarily.

No, according to Word of God. Doesn’t stop people from fearing that elements of EqG will make their way onto the main show. Particularly if there are any boyfriend characters.

I must ask… Will Equestria Girls be consider cannon in the MLP timeline?

Funny. I had no good feelings all throughoug MMC. Most of it was totally bland, and the rest made me fear for the show’s future.

That’s the best part: I’m NOT excited. I’m pretty indifferent either way. If it’s bad, I can just move on. If it’s good, I can enjoy it and then sit back and watch more backpedaling than the Tour de France in reverse. It’s the perfect plan!

Real talk: I want Equestria Girls to be great. I want it to just blow everyone out of the water. Not because I particularly care about it or anything, mind you. It’s just that a lot of the butthurt over it has gotten so unfathomably hyperbolic that I want it to be good purely out of spite. I want to see everyone who’s screaming and crying about it now sheepishly turn and walk away, quitely mumbling to themselves, “Yeah, well I still think that skirt looks dumb.”
 
It will be GLOURIOUS.
