“You’re standing in the way of everyone’s hopes and dreams!”
Luna is totally the kind of character that would give really anime-y names to all of her attacks. NEW MOON GRAVITY CRUSHER!
I might have missed some tags here, so feel free to add ’em.

Which is why she lifted much /larger/ things to try to achieve that strength. She felt that it made her feel quite powerful - and that she loved. So she did it more. And more.
but for that exact same reason, she also wouldn’t build up much either.
pumping those 50 pounders doesn’t do much for you when the reduced gravity means they’re only 10 pounds
And considering that there’s little to no gravity on the moon, Luna probably wouldn’t break a sweat bulking up during her thousand-year exile.
So… Luna on the moon could or workout, to one day be powerful like on this picture or like most of females: eat and eat and slowly turn into fatty. I think she choose better idea

I confess, when you said ‘I think you overdid it’ I thought you were referring to the lack of ARMOR, not the musculature.
If it’s any consolation, the general idea as to how Luna became this way is the idea that the Nightmare was able to provide for Luna during her exile on the moon in almost every way - the exception was retaining her muscle mass. If she didn’t make a point of working out on the moon, she’d probably just fall over when she got back to Equestria and wouldn’t be capable of doing much except spout her horn at the enemy. Of course - she didn’t have much to DO on the moon, and exercise is somewhat addicting. Not only that, but I theorize Luna has a need to feel powerful. She’s been beaten down so constantly, that to have ANYTHING at her mercy - even inanimate objects - is a great feeling for her. So she puts two and two together - she can’t beat Celestia at magic nor social things, but Tia has never made any point in doing any physical lifting. She feels that, if she can one day move mountains, she’ll get the respect she deserves.
now admittedly, I have seen bigger than this. I have seen them impossibly big. this is nowhere close to the biggest muscles I have seen in drawings.
But when you compare to IRL? the the only realistic comparison even comes close is professional body builders, which is to say like (pulls number out of my ass) 1% of the human population, so yes, “huge” is an accurate descriptor.
“Huge”? If you don’t like this kind of thing then fair enough but…really, this is “huge”? This is probably the most reasonably sized muscle I’ve seen in a long time. Let alone this is one of the most reasonable commissions Deccy has gotten.
I mean that the muscles are HUGE. Like really. But if you like it this way, I’m not going to try to convince you that it’s a wrong thing.
Why so?
Psssh. Luna doesn’t need your lame ARMOR. She’s got MUSCLES. And she intends to show them off!
(Though, really, in an actual battle scenario, she WOULD be likely to wear anything from scalemail to full plate.)
