Somewhere, in the depths of the internet, there is a pony thread. We are all quite mad.
Not to intentionally derail further, but chances are at some point the series really was meant to just be 65 episodes long, or at least only 65 episodes were originally commissioned. My gut feeling is MMC was meant as the series finisher, then scrapped once the series got extended, and then put back in too late to make it a two-parter.

Magical Mystery Cure did have a “final episode” feel to it, but I don’t buy into the whole “65 episodes and done” thing. Not with a massively popular cash cow like FIM.
but…I’m only thinking of her future…
She will be the most successful stage actress on tour.

Look at it this way, you go around in a costume already, only now ponies will pay you to take it off and go back to being normal a naked.
Think of it as a cleansing.
You just have to shake you flank a little during to process, you used flashy tricks before to get bits, treat is as another part of the performance, just another act and routine.
