It’s not.
Thinking a career will fulfill you more than another person is simply backward
You can have a couple and a career, or dreams to chase or whatever you wish. But you shouldn’t sacrifice such a big part of your life for a couple.
Why? Because if you have to sacrifice it for your partner, then clearly that person is not the most appropiate to you. Both members of a couple shouldn’t need to sacrifice or concede anything, their lifes should run along smoothly and effortlessly.
Marriage and even simply having the same partner for life is unnatural, people grows tired of it and leave, because they usually stick with an “ok partner”, not with someone that is really OK for them.
OP here! I must confess, I have never been much of one for the whole “Journey > Destination” thing, seeing as that concept only has any value if you reach the destination. After all, a journey with no destination is, at best, wandering aimlessly, which is little better than being removed from the here and now, and at worst, a perfect manifestation of despair.
As for the partner thing…I don’t necessarily disagree, but there are precious few pains worse than being dumped by someone you thought you loved. Remember that.
@Whatevs
“This means something. This is important.”
And understand that it’s not about “chasing” a partner. When you find the right one for you, it will make you stronger– complete you, bring you new ideas, help you be more confident, and overall make your journey a more interesting one.

I’m actually more confused by your earlier statement.
To shift suddenly to the “u mad” tactic is rather funny.
Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
@BP
Calm bro, didn’t mean to hurt your feelings.
Then again, this is the singer who thinks that her wearing a dress made out of meat is a meaningful protest against the military preferring that homosexuals don’t join.
>from Lady Gaga
Sweet Jesus, NO
Was that supposed to be clever?
but when you’re taking life advice from lady gaga
…
yeah nevermind. Knock yourself out
And she wouldn’t find the wisdom of Gaga to be at all impressive.
Unless you happen to be doing something that you love like Rarity and Gaga, then it will provide little comfort.
And finally, Gaga seems to be implying that men initiate divorce. Other way around for the most part.
