Featured images are selected by staff vote, where we have a pool of staff-suggested nominations, some of which picked from the public thread. Occasionally, we bypass the vote and feature collabs or community projects. In this case I was the one who inserted this image into this 3-day slot, since the image was made for a recent occasion, even if it’s a few days late to the party.
