Or even better, the twisted Together Tree she tried to brute force into existence will spend the rest of eternity endlessly draining her magic to feed on - if she really is immortal, like she claimed
Or maybe that’s how you kill an Alicorn - completely drain them of their magic
Either way, yeah, it was a bit of a deus ex machina with the rainbow, but it’s not like that isn’t keeping with MLP’s traditions, so it didn’t really bother me.

A bit disatisfying that her defeat was via deus ex machina and that she wasn’t given a no bars held beatdown, but I can find comfort in theorizing that she slowly suffocated in that tree. Makes the comeuppance more delicious.

They are immortal. Even Opaline says so. Just because Luna and Celestia are immortal doesn’t mean Twilight is. Twilight wasn’t born an alicorn like Opaline.
As for where they are, they are probably somewhere far away.
