@FirelordofHyrule
I don’t know how it applies to other wasp species, but the ones I have encountered were always pretty damn calm. I know it’s a meme, btw.
You see this?
This is a motherfucking wasp.
It does not pollinate flowers,
it does not make honey;
its only purpose in life is to fuck shit up wherever it goes.
If you see one, run for your fucking life and hope you’re not on its list of shit to fuck up.
@Background Pony
She bosses Angel around through her dog. It’s meant to show that while she is good with dogs, she is certainly no Fluttershy in character. She’s much more harsh and down-to-earth. She takes a different approach. I certainly did not intend to give her any super-power.
@Background Pony
Well, I had no idea that was some sort of a trope. She has intimidated Angel with the threat of force, and through her dog. And it was not effortless, but the story did skip forward a couple of hours, during which Angel did his fair share to piss off Tails. I included it for story reasons primarily, and setting up her character.
@Sjogre
Actually, Angel spent the rest of the episode being a hellraiser- until Spike apologized for not actually caring about the pests he was paid to care for. At which point he got Spike his last jewel back.
@thps48
What do you think? I care about canon characterization. I don’t want Smudge to quit. I don’t want anyone to quit.
Here’s a thought: Why does BP care? Is it that he cares about Smudge’s quality of writing? (I’d quote Freud if I knew more about this form of psyche. :T )
Although, if the overarching goal is to get Smudge to quit, BP can then fall off a bridge.
@Background Pony
You do realize that Aloysius got Angel to quit down by threatening to eat him, right? Angel knows that other animals aren’t going to put up with his crap and are fully willing to go circle-of-life on his tail.
@RIG
That’s precisely what I’m talking about. There’s a total of 2 beings in Equestria who managed to intimidate Angel, and both were uniquely suited to do so: Fluttershy has The Stare, and Discord isn’t even mortal. So, what’s your explanation, other than “because I want to”? ‘Cause that’s the stuff Sues are made off. After all, what’s wrong with being faster than Rainbow Dash? What’s wrong with having more power than Princess Twilight Sparkle? Granted, the example above isn’t a Sue (yet), but it didn’t exactly endear him/her to me.
Now, if Angel gets his revenge for this, I’ll take what I wrote back. Would you disagree that that’s something believable?
@RIG
My problem isn’t so much with the OC, it’s with the OC bossing Angel around. I thought I made that clear. It’s like an OC suddenly being faster than Rainbow Dash, or bucking apples better than Aj, or magicking Twilight into the ground because the creator wants to be “cool”.
@PonyPon
OC Pony is an OC, OC Pony’s dog is an OC. You both know Angel, you think he’d let some scrappy mutt boss him around? It took The Stare or Discord to keep him in line… and even with the latter, he got up and ratted him out, right in his face! This is some awfully wishful thinking on the part of the artist. And almost every writer/artist who has their OC interact with Angel does this. And it’s not believable, just something they want to happen so badly.
Fun fact: If you hand-feed a wasp queen, she’ll recognize your scent as being safe and with food, and thus you can stand under their nest while the queen continually broadcasts a “Nah don’t touch him. He’s cool. He gave me sugar water.”

Hey, it’s okay.
@Smudge_Proof
Yeah, it’s somewhat of a pet peeve of mine. And my first post was confrontational, and not helpful. So, sorry about that.
Wow, I missed that! My mistake.

It’s all fine, then. :j

sigh…we have different ways to think, we better ignored each other…bye bye.

you forgot to mention you must do that BEFORE the queen gaves birth.
that is cool!
Hey, the dog’s doin’ the work. Angel knows what’s up.
@Psychopomf
Interesting…
is actually her dog who has Angel on the toes.
