I like showing how creatures that are fundamentally different than us would have fundamentally different behaviors. It make sense to me that a creature whose entire evolution revolves around ambushing and grabbing prey would show affection in a similar manner too :D

My one major complaint with e621, which admittedly isn’t worth much because I’m really not a user there and I don’t even have an account, is the way they alias unrelated tags together. Like they aliased “monster boy” into “monster girl”, so now that entire subgenre just doesn’t get to have a tag there, because screw women and gay people. Again, maybe it’s like how here the “solo male” and “solo female” tags aren’t for safe-related images because there’s a, for lack of a better term, historic reason for it, but it still bites :/

e621 has an extremely bizarre “no creepy comments” rule where what qualifies as a “creepy comment” depends entirely on which mod happens to see your comment but frequently seems to include sexually explicit comments even if the image itself is explicit. It makes no sense at all and is a big reason why I just never post comments there.

Huh, I think I skimmed that image at one point. Toriel’s among my go-to searches.

That said, it does suck how comment guidelines are so dodgy on that site.

I had an e621 account, but I got permabanned for a comment that I thought was perfectly in line with the pic I commented on, but a moderator disagreed, so fuck me, I guess.

It’s actually one of my long-standing complaints about most, if not all, “booru” type websites where the tagging a certain way is mandatory, instead of the Pixiv or Imgur thing where you’re allowed to tag however you want and thus they’re completely useless. Booru sites will be insanely, obsessively, hyper-specific with some types of things, but so generic with others that they’re rendered completely pointless. Like, e621 has about 12 different tags devoted just to slightly specific differences in foot shape, but these five vastly different creatures are all only tagged as “sphinx” XD

I’m not mocking the guys who made those pictures either, like here are some source links: (1), (2), (3), (4), (5). All five of those would be in my favorites (or whatever that website has) if I had an account there XD

Right? You’d think they’d have a tag for downward muzzle after so long.

It’s a sliding scale with mimics. It’s more akin to being held in their mouth than anything. They’re just fairly possessive and clingy of the people they like, since being greedy is in their nature, so when they get the chance they’ll clamp their shell down onto you to hold you in place for as much cuddling as possible :D

They’re more like clams than anything. Their outermost part is more like a shell to camouflage themselves and snare prey. It’s just very rubbery instead of being hard :D
