Clever.
One can only dream…
>>dies at the end
I wonder what impious will think of that if true :3c
@EsperDerek
Optimus Prime. :v (like, a LOT)
He really needs to stop doing that.
Also don’t forget those old animated Grimm fairy tales on Nick, much of them ended the same way as the original tales, like Rumplestiltskin exploding.
Also Hasbro’s first G1 movies for Joes and Transformers both.
And it’s amusing to recall that while Spiral Zone seems like it was created for an older demographic, officially its creators stated it was to directly compete with GI Joe, which can only mean it was meant for the same demographic.
Also Hasbro’s previous GiantRobot attempt, Robotix, was much more ‘hard 1960s sci-fi’ than Transformers, yet also aimed at the same demographic. Alien worlds, sapient robots, and people getting shoved out airlocks. Woohooo! Also volcanos. G1 Hasbro lurvs its volcanos.
@Ripple_Shine
When I hear ff7 I think ‘the demise of respectable jrpg’ ;Þ
Asides from the Faust-invocation, I’m going to agree with you on the “slice-of-life episode about Luna and Celestia.” There’s still a chance in Season 4 that will happen
That’s what Lauren Faust wanted to do, although the show went in a different direction after she left. I don’t know if they are going to do anything more with their backstories in Season 4 or not.
I really would have liked to see a slice-of-life episode about Luna and Celestia. Maybe they’ll do a Micro Series comic like that.
I also remember hearing that Season 3 would expound on the history of Celestia & Luna. I don’t think that bit about imprisoning Sombra counts.
>lesbian acceptance episode
First:
Second: Did you guys hear the rumoured duet between Octavia and Rarity that would happen in season three? Yeah, me too.
Just because some rumours turn out to be true, does not mean they all are.
Third: Nicole Oliver also voices Cheerilee, thus it is unlikely to be Celestia.
If I were to hazard a guess, I’d say one of the CMCs, since they each have a single-role VA…and because the uproar over a child death in a children’s show would be fucking hilarious :P
And finally: Something that I haven’t had to say since the whole “alicorn drama” bullshittery:
“It’s not what they do that matters, but how they do it” - SF Debris
that it is :)
That movie is fucking awesome.
17, knows who Rodimus Prime/Hot Rod is, watched that movie at least 20 times, and is currently imagining King Sombra’s ghost ravaging equestria to the Unicron Medley.
@Klonoahedgehog
My point is, when you hear “Autobot Leader” you think Optimus, not Rodimus, his replacement. Like mentioning FF7 makes people think “Cloud”, not necessarily “Zack” or “Angeal”
I knew who Rodimus Prime was when I was six. G1 Transformers was (the) shit. I loved every second of it.
I’m 16 and i know who Rodimus is.
Okay, but does anyone younger than say, 18, even remember who Rodimus Prime is?”
@Princess♠Molestia
Even looking at this from a purely profit-driven perspective, it makes more sense to expand on an existing character than to kill them off or write them out of the show entirely.
Heh. Just imagine what it would have been like if they had internet back then.
I don’t think droves is the right word, that’s probably applicable to Luna or one of the main 6, maybe Trixie (no clue why they would kill her). But yeah, I reeaaaaallly doubt they’d let that happen. Especially in MLP.
Even the villains rarely die.
hasbro actually dealt with this situation when they killed off optimus in the first movie, and that was in the 80s, before the internet
That, or the very prospect of a beloved character biting the dust could drive people away in droves. So, damned if you do and damned if you don’t I guess.
Of course, I doubt Hasbro would ever let that happen, the whole reason they brought Optimus back in the Bay-formers movies was so they could sell merchandise.
It would certainly drive viewership up…until it happened, then they lose viewers who get pissed off.
