You all know Shining is Spike’s Big Brother figure and Mentor, When Spike was 11 he came to Shining years ago to train him and make him his disciple, at first Shining hesitated but accepted Spike’s request cause he sense a strong warrior spirit in him and because he reminded him of himself when he was little. Shining taught him Swordsmanship, Martial arts, and Acrobatics, also Shining knows a bit of Parkour.
For Four years Shining trained Spike and was proud and impressed to see he was developing fast, that he learns faster then the new recruiters of the Army.
Spike and Shining have a great sibling relationship with each other, and like with Big Mac Spike feels he can tell Shining anything which led him to reveal his problems with Twilight and her friends.
After he heard Spike was missing, Shining had a long talk with Twilight and she told him everything that happened and she feels Guilty and Ashamed for what she did, Although Shining can never bring himself to be Extremely angry at his sister but he was disappointed in her.
Like Everyone he was Thrilled to hear from Celestia that she found Spike, but was confused about why he couldn’t come home. Shining believes in Spike and knows he’ll be okay.
