I saw that already, but laughed because of the joke and reference.
EVERYBODY’s skin color is weird in the “human world”.
It’s like they ended up in the world of Doug.
I knew someone would make it but it didnt expect to wait this long.
Same here. In most other shows, I would probably find Spike super annoying, but the universe just seems to hate him so much I completely and fully sympathize with him.
I feel like season 3 treated him a little better though. We actually did see him a bit more active in the group, and had him actually save the crystal empire. Plus he got a window for it. Plus two episodes, while some characters got one or none. Sure one wasn’t as good as the other, but I think it counts for something.
I do feel like you’re right though. The fact that in the finale, twilight and the girls hugged, and she said she loved them…with no mention to spike, or special thanks for all he’s done. But I feel like that’s more of a reason to like him. The fact that he doesn’t do all that stuff, and demand respect or thanks, but because he’s just looking out for someone who really needs the help. And deep down she does appreciate it even if she doesn’t show it.
The comic writers seem to have a lot more love for him, at least. He got to defend Ponyville from monsters with Celestia, and he got to fight using a trident. Celestia even gave him a freaking medal, and he did it all within two pages.
It’s almost like Katie Cook was mocking how little respect spike gets on the show by having him do something incredibly epic, and then he acts like it was nothing.
I’m still surprised they actually did it. The series does keep hammering in that he’s both not really in the friendship group, and that he’s not a pony. I can’t see why they couldn’t just make him a young boy in EG, as that should be enough of a separator, what with the rest of the cast being female.
It almost feels like the writers marathoned the previous gen series and either developed a hate-on for Spike himeself or hated the series and take it out on Spike for having been in them.
yes but then it would be too cruel to Spike. At that point he is more a burden than anything else (plus i’m not much a dog person…) and that would be even mor ehorrible to him than being death knowing Spike(but hey he can crap in Rairty shoes :|)
I honestly hope he doesn’t speak. Not because I hate Spike, but I really hate talking pets. And it would make the EG world even weirder if animals start talking.
FiM gets a pass for me on that as it seems only Fluttershy and Trixie have any idea wtf animals are “talking” about, and it’s open to interpretation how much they seem to actually understand versus infer.
