I like this idea though. Notice how the two prom pictures of Sunset are different not just in showing off her victory of being queen. But the first image shows that she looked more innocent while the second one she seemed the polar opposite, like her ego was boosted and turned into the typical popular bitch.
 
Maybe Brad was the one who coaxed her into coming into the mirrored world because she was Celestia’s former student and fell in love with her. Wanted to treat her like a queen and keep her happy by getting her different crowns and making a perfect world for her.
 
Then Twilight comes in and goes Persona on his ass.

Something tells me human “Brad” may not be evil, however I would not be surprised if turns out the pony “Brad” is.
 
That he stole the crown and tossed it in the mirror ( I just find it weird the crown would end up as the prize for being elected “princess of the fall formal dance”, instead of the thief keeping the crown somewhere safe and DOES NOT have a chance of losing it due to a election ), so he may turn out to be Sunset Shimmers’s accomplice ( if she is even evil at all ( a bitch yes, but not evil ).

You know the problem with this is that Hasbro doesn’t like to pay money, and probs payed minimum wage (I’m exaggerating) to whoever was making the plot of the story.

That would be a magnificent twist on what looks to be an utterly generic high-school battle for prom. Sadly, I don’t think they’re going to go that route.

Why not take it further and have Sunset Shimmer be the love interest?
 
(OK, I admit that’s much more of a stretch. While I do think it’s inevitable that some children’s cartoon will have a positive depiction of a same-sex romance, I don’t think any executives currently have the balls to let it fly.)

That would actually be a pretty cool and clever subversion of everyone’s expectations, and I’m 95% certain that it won’t happen for exactly this reason. The remaining 5% is because the people behind MLP will always receive at least a partial benefit of a doubt from me, because hey they managed to make love adorable ponies. Maybe they can make something about highschool that doesn’t suck for a change.
