Lauren Faust did not create MLP.Anyone who believes she did is clearly misinformed.She developed the FiM cartoon series.Hasbro definitely wasn’t stupid when they took her in,MLP needed something different for G4 and they had to start from the media the were using to promote them and she had plenty of experience in the industry.Also,she made the designs used in the G4 toys(even though she wanted to have them different bodies,Hasbro refused).

While is true,she was pretty much the head of the project(and again,I’m talking about the G4 cartoon,which was her area).Probably only the Hasbro executives were the ones above of her.And even she (along with other staff members) had the guts to disagree with some of the executive’s decisions.
 
You could feel all the work back then was more balanced between them.
 
I completely agree with you in that is annoying that some people take her to worshiping levels and that needs to be toned down,but the credits are theirs (the staff) and Faust mainly because she was one bent on making the G4 cartoon different from their predecessors.
 
True,FiM is still a huge toy ad,but despite that it didn’t felt like one,even the product placements were nicely done,especially in the 1st season.The characters,even though they parted from known archetypes,had a nice characterization.It gave customers other reasons than “it’s cute” to buy the toys.In certain ways,FiM reminds me a little bit of MLP Tales.
 
Just honestly tell me,how high/low could the probabilities have been that the G4 cartoon wouldn’t have changed that much from G3 if any other person was in charge?
 
And just like people had the right to complain and criticize G3 (when it started) and G4,be it with reasonable points or in the most immature way,Faust also has the right to complain about this in the way she wants (and the prototype dolls were meant to be criticized anyway since they were just that,prototypes)because Equestria Girls,at least at its surface is basically what she tried to avoid with the main series.

… Maybe it’s just me, but that seems like a fairly significant credit.

The thing is - MLP is NOT creation of Faust. It existed 30 years ago. And even G4 is not hers - it’s committee work. Look up her early concepts - they were far inferior to what G4 MLP became.
 
And in any way, even if she was sole person responsible for MLP, basing “criticism” on single blurry photo of early prototype (especially when her GG dolls look pretty much identical) is just sad.

Just sayin’, y’all sound like that. Yes, she did a lot, yes she helped create a great show, yes she should be upset, but seriously you folk think she is a fragile little doll that will break if someone makes her sad.
 
And, yes, helped. She didn’t pull FiM out of her ass, she worked as part of a team. Saying she created FiM is an insult to everyone who has worked on this show to make it as great as it is.

All I see are people using other peoples names or legacy’s to support their own stances, rather than make compelling arguments for them.

When the movie EqG was announced,lots of people complained and then some other people started complaining about the people complaining.
 
The EqG dolls prototypes were announced recently.Lauren Faust didn’t like it and she expressed her opinion.
 
Then idiots started complaining about her complaining like she didn’t had any right to do so.
