It seemed to me that the Twilight’s teachings throughout the later seasons was: ‘Magic should not be used to solve any situation. In fact, magic should never be used at all’!
It seemed like a poor message from the Element of Magic and the Princess of Friendship(which is Magic).
I hoped that Celestia had requested that Twilight take Glim as a student to help Twilight get over her reluctance to employ magic in day-to-day uses. (Twilight certainly started teleporting a lot more after Glim moved in.)

Friendship, Art, and Magic (2018) - Celebrated Derpibooru's six year anniversary with friends.

This was all part of Starlight’s character arc throughout Season 6, having to learn that she can’t use magic to solve all of her problems, and realizing how much her social skills have been lacking from being the leader of a village-wide equality cult.
Also, it always hurts to hear the ‘not mad, but disappointed’ reaction.
