Hardtack is a rough-and-tumble monster of a mare, towering over just about everypony bar the princesses themselves. She’s been a cook for as long as she can remember, and has a knack for turning cheap, bland foods into actually palatable meals. Naturally, this talent makes her well suited to the long voyages at sea, and quickly found herself the head cook of every ship she sailed with. These days, she remains well-rooted in Caballo Bay, sailing with the fishing crew of the Daiyamondo, and working at Cold Press’ pub during the off-season. Gruff and not much for smiling, she still treats her crewmates like family. If somepony attempts to mess with them, she’ll gladly introduce any troublemakers to the hard knock of cast iron cookware.
