Done for an art jam. The theme: Armor. My boy Garrett rocking the armor of his king. Not my best work, but also not a total wash; I do like how some things turned out, like the scale mail.

I wanted to try something different and the most recent book of the Renegade MLP TTRPG characterized griffons as some French-like pastiche that saw full sets of armor as a reminder of Griffonstone’s better days, so I decided to look at some French paintings for inspiration. I later got excited enough to decide to go full in on the French painting idea and decided to do the whole thing in digital paint. Unfortunately, CSP requires custom brushes for it to look actually painted, and by the time I realized that I didn’t have enough time to redo it to look nicer since I was a dummy and procrastinated until the last minute. I’ll try digital painting again in the future for a smaller idea without a deadline.
