You bet they are.

I mean, I wouldn’t have minded Snap and Mane all that much, if they were at least mentioned here and there over the course of the show. As it just comes off as incredibly forced that the pretty much just show up to say “Hello, we’re X.” and then pretty much never be seen again.

And I just think that since the show runners did have some episodes that tackled some issues, like when that Sludge dragon pretended to be Spike’s dad, I think they could’ve handled this sort of thing in a mature enough way.

I’ve said this before on similar pics, but I don’t even think they have to go with making Snap Shutter and Mane Allgood scumbags or anything, just showing that family isn’t purely about blood relations but the love that people share among themselves.

I personally like that if they chose to go in a more mature way, they could’ve had Snap and Mane being happy expecting parents who were super excited to raise their child, but sadly one of them may have died from a terrible illness or something shortly after Scootaloo was born, and the one who was left just wasn’t in the right mental state to raise her by themselves, and they chose to put her up for adoption rather than not be able to take care of her properly and all.

And despite that, the remaining parent still loves Scootaloo very much, but isn’t about to try to just show up and force some sort of forced relationship onto her, but would at least offer her help if she ever needed it.

That would’ve be a great way to show that the remaining parent fully acknowledges their mistake but still loves her and at least wants to be able to help her if she ever needs it.

It was unnecessary to bring Snap Shutter and Mane Allgood in.

Personally, Bow and Windy are WAY better parents for Scootaloo.

I know it’s been said before, but I really think that the show writers should’ve just had Rainbow Dash’s parents adopt Scootaloo into their family, as her and Dash were practically all but sisters anyway.

It would’ve been far better to just try to force in a couple of parents and such who were never even mentioned or referenced in the entire series, only to have them pretty much leave again.

I’ll never understand that sort of choice, as they did sometimes tackle some issues and such in the show before, so why couldn’t they do something more.
