The relationship doesn’t sound healthy or balanced. In these situations, you should confront your partner and explain that they can’t throw away stuff that matters to you without your consent. If they brush it off as not that big of a deal, then frankly, that is a deal breaker and you would be happier not sharing your life with someone like that.
 
People who care about you don’t pull shit like this, it is not normal and can even be an indication of future domestic abuse.
